I think I'll go for the Hilbert in Black 2, Hilda in White 2 option. So Cynthia will be safe for now!

Yeah, team is haaaaaard. If I had the use of Memory Link then it'd be Dragon / Starter / Monkey / three other Unovians, but as it is, this is gonna be difficult. Definitely the dragon, but it's hard to choose the rest. I could take the Red route and go all three starters, but then I definitely can't get the monkeys in. I might have to take some Pokémon special influence for this one.

Haha, yeah, agreed. I wonder where I would've ended up putting him if it was as flexible as Gen IV, though (well, as flexible without hurting my head with so many hexadecimal numbers)... Dragonspiral Tower, perhaps?
Probably the best spot would be that area with the shiny Haxorus that's unlocked after completing the Unova Dex. Seemed like the perfect reward but lolgamefreak

To be more specific, I've almost finished it. I'll probably have it out within the next 3 days or so.

Oh snap, Nature Sanctuary is actually a really good idea. Probably will be shifting things there once I get the opportunity...

Alright, I've got Hilbert/Hilda's team sorted. I don't know if it'll be the toughest battle ever (albeit their dragon should give you a nice run for your money) but at least it fits. It's a mixture of gift and special encounter Pokémon (e.g. GSC's Lapras).

It all looks good, Dray. Gotta teach meh how to edit the overworld stuff, man. ;)

Heh, sure, it's easy stuff. Well, for BW1 anyway. B2W2 I have to get lucky as there's no LUA script yet and I'm not too sure how to go about making one. x.x

There's a thread over at ProjectPokemon that explains what you'd need, though.

I have not read all 86 pages of this topic and this question might have been answered but I own and mac and other rom hacks usually work but for some reason i cant get this one to work any advice?

Someone's suggesting I change the Undella Cynthia battle into a Hilbert one. Might not be totally impossible, but it wouldn't have any special music if everything was working correctly so it would probably fall flat on its face. D:

...Plus there's the fact not being able to script really narrows what I could do with the starters...

EDIT: Okay, I might just plow on ahead anyway. I found the overworld data, so now there's a choice...

Which should I pick? Due to various limitations (i.e.: CAN'T SCRIPT), I can only realistically put one in the game for now. I think... unless I replace Mr. Nishino too. Hohoho.

(I also need to get a team that unfortunately cannot correspond to what Cheren and Bianca get by Memory Link, so that's great. Ugh.)

What do you mean by "can't script'? I thought hex scripting is still possible with SHA256 under the processing line, it might be harder but working with the nothingness you have now would have lower results than hex-scripting even if it will be slower, hence Blaze Black & Volt White compared to SGSS...

Chaos: Well, strictly speaking you CAN script through hex, yes (I'm ignoring the "SHA256 under the processing line" as I have no idea what that means, though given I know SHA is to do with hashing I assume it's how the scripting commands get transformed into their relevant hex values), but there's a lot about it I don't really understand. I know the vague gist of it (the file starting with pointers, and then launching into the actual scripts) but I'll be damned if I know the hex codes for all the necessary commands. Figuring out what is what is pretty darn hard tbh. There's a guide for a simple text one, but eh, it's not something I think I really need at the moment. I'll probably build on it in the future, but doing scripts in hex is kinda scary.

I also don't understand the structure of the overworld file, so there's not a lot I can really do with the scripting given I won't be able to place new characters on the map. It seems a bit different to the way 4th gen did it; the actual data for the overworlds is intact but I don't know what determines how many overworlds are on the map etc.

Actually I was talkin' about B/W2; granted I haven't actually played B/W2 yet...Yes. This is true blue. I was just hoping you could tell meh, seeing that you were able to do it. LOL

Ehhh...not the strongest of team, but enough to help me win it.

The stuff with Eevee...Damn you, that was ingenious. I was having trouble running it at first; random crashing and whatnot...but all I needed was to use those updated roms. LOL I was using those older copies, ya know. :P

I imagined the structure of the overworld file is similar to the 4th gen, more advanced obviously but mostly based on previous commands, also with your scripting I imagined your hex scripting skills exceeds mine by a lot, you addressed very advanced scripting on SGSS which some of it can only be done with hex scripting, yes the file starts with pointers which "lead" the memory to the script itself, sorta imagine it's an hotel and you want to address room X, you got the room service to ask who is resident at which room and go to that room number, your script simply took a room number ( a very high one) that shouldn't be addressed normally on the memory without the room service's support, actually my demands of you using hex script is kinda ugly, it's your hack and you get to decide how and when to code\script\make it, take everything I suggest as suggestion only, I should understand that not everyone got spare time for the community, hell especially I should understand that, since my job is basically that...

your progress is very good considering the game was released a few months ago and you started hacking it a few months later together with 2 more hacks, though developing 3 gamehacks at the same time is very tough, you should abandon one project (or even two)

for my previous line : SHA is hashing, basically, in a very advanced way though there are many more advanced, when you "load" a game, many of it's code is start running, resulting the memory of said machine to change, it changes exactly according to the code, but the results are not always the same - why? it's because there's an hash that changes the address, their values and their "meaning" (or how the game address integers), it's results are encrypted hence the memory can't be "mapped" and "changed" to simple language such as basic scripting ("health = X"), because it won't be the same place, well not for all address, it's up to the developer how much of it is encrypted, pokemon games are not encrypted very well, puzzle quest though is one of the most encrypted game series for the DS, pointers simply take the address that you want to change (for example, health is address A and its value is B... pointers address will be different from health address but pointers value is gonna be A, that way the ARM machine knows that it should look into that address)
SHA256 just means how well the DS encrypts the memory, which determines how hard it is to fuck with the memory, for memory that response so fast and doesn't have a bunch of (4MB?) and has a very good timing, the DS doesn't use a very advanced encrypting, it could easily support type of code encryption that would stop us from even running AR codes, since it's basically ran in the very small size left from the memory out of the ROM's reach

Oh, damnit! I just finally got through N's Castle in VW1, now your telling me you already finished BB2VW2? When will I ever get a break from Pokemon!? :P

But in all seriousness though, awesome job. I really admire your work. But I think I'll wait for the localized patches whenever you finish those instead.

Hey i have one of the problems of freezing that is when i talk with mew it teleports and the fgame freezes ''/ is there any way to stop the freezing on the FlashCard? ''/

For some reason my game freezes every time one of my pokemon faints. Any ideas on what could be causing this? The Version I have is 1.5...Also, I'm running it on DeSmuME Version 0.9.7 x86 if that helps at all. This could be a major bug or just something stupid that I'm doing (probably the latter) so please get back to me quickly! Thanks!

After the battle with a fished pokemon, all of the interactable sprites on the screen look all screwy and if I try to do anything that requires the screen to black out momentarily (access bag, get into battle etc.) the game freezes. This never happened to me before as I had been able to fish successfully in the past (I believe I've also had a fainted pokemon or two before without freezing but that I don't remember for sure) I am currently on Route 31 so maybe the bug (if it is a bug) only applies there. I could really use some help! :(
Okay so I tried going to Violet City and I had a pokemon faint there and fished both successfully. So I think this bug may only apply to Route 31. Still, it's worth checking out so can someone else please double check?
After successfully battling and catching multiple Pokemon in Dark Cave Violet Side, the sprite of me and my following Pokemon dissappear leaving only shadows after a wild battle. Then the game freezes whenever the screen needs to transition. I'm starting to get upset. :'(

The latest DeSmuME is .9.8 fyi... Maybe updating will fix your issue.
