I'll start straight with the tutorial:

1. Go to Pokémon Heart Gold & Pokémon Soul Silver English Translation
2. Download the (translation) patch for your game, either HG or SS.
3. Patch it either with localized or katakana patch.
4. Play as long as you wish with NO freeze, crash or black screen!

====>> Alternatively, you can also patch the game with Rudolph's newest patch, which is based on the same anti-piracy-patch-engine like the upper translation patch. So, in case you do not want to have a patched and translated ROM, you can also use his patch to prevent Freeze, Crash and Black Screen problems with your game, since they share the same patch-engine. Rudolph's Patch: RP

CAUTION: If you are using a M3 DS Real or a M3i Zero, then read below at UPDATE 2!

*****UPDATE 2*****

If you are using a M3 DS Real or a M3i Zero, then go to their homepage and download their newest firmware v4.4a X E52!!
It fixes all problems with your HGSS ROM!!
download page: Official US/EU Download Page of M3 Team

Thanks goes out to Raqib12, Rykin and of course Rudolph & me!

don't know but after i patched my save was killed, maybe i just failed or can it be because of the patch? But i don't care then i will start over again(just arrived in violet city so it isn't that bad), but i will wait for a basic translation patch first.

Can I get confirmation? All I read are thanks, but has anyone tested it out? I'm skeptical only because the last one ended up not working. I'll test it out in the meantime.

Just got my save killed...
2:30 hours of gameplay, not much but it was painful. more than 10 crashes...

Now starting all over again.

(After replacing the arm7 will it work on WiFi aswell?)

It gave me my first black screen when I came from Violet City to Ruins of Alph.

Is it because I made a save file in the unpatched ROM? Should I start over?

Tried it on SoulSilver BTW.

THIS DOES NOT FIX THE CRASH AFTER SPEAKING TO PROF OAK (not ELM)!
It fixes the saving crash, but once you walk out of the house that PROF OAK is at your game will freeze!

It does work, i can save now on m3 real, but after receiving my running shoes, i entered the old man's house again, left, and entered another one and it gave me a black screen with music in the background, so the all that's fixed is the saving part on m3 real

Thats just telling me the patch doesnt work..
(by the way people, there is no particular position or place for the black screen or hang. It can happen anywhere. So this doesnt work...)

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
