Just bend my future modkit. It is kinda tricky to get it to hit the right pins, but with a flashlight you can take a look inside and fit the clip in perfectly.

For everyone using metric system:
View attachment 121499 View attachment 121500 View attachment 121501

The dent is a tight fit to be big enough to hold it's place, but not too big to fit at all... Try to make it exactly 2mm, a little more than on my picture and it will be perfect

you might want to file down some of the sharp edges around where you clipped the paperclip.

This part only hits the bottom of the rail, so it can't do any harm.
It actually can be quite difficult to file them without destroying the bend :O

i was thinking more about scratches to the rail while inserting and sliding down than actually destroying anything. that said, its probably better to file before you bend or before you find the perfect shape, yes.
but if you just carefully file the tips individually with a nail file, they shouldn't really bend out of shape.

I just tried this, and can anyone confirm whether it's correct that without an USB cable it boots into the recovery menu (aka am I doing this correctly)?

If the Switch looks like it doesn't come on when you hold Volume+ and the power button, then you probably entered RCM.

I that case I must be doing something wrong, because I'm getting the recovery menu instead.

Sigh, I'm not gonna lie this is getting frustrating. After printing both kinds of jigs twice to no avail, and now this one not working properly I'm getting close to throwing in the towel and just solder the pins in the joycon.

OP, will you please do a tiny bending services thread?:creep:

Seriously, if you could go a little more in-depth, like the specific brand of paper clip, that would 100% me.

I think you're pressing "+ and -" instead of "+".

1-10 paperclip into the right rail, check from above that it touches and then button-magic
Soldering is the worst idea... also detectable (this is a dispute topic)

... Goddammit, it's the plus button rather than the minus isn't it. In my defence I actually read that it was minus at some point. Still both jigs and the paperclip method work beautifully now. I'm still not sure how I got into the other menu but, quite frankly, at this point I don't care, something finally works as it should.

Sorry you're not good with Windows Sylvester. lol
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
Because co-pilot doesnt even show up on my pc. Not in the taskbar, not in the start menu search, and the option in settings to turn it on and off in the taskbar is not even displayed.

Well, I complain about Microsoft all the time. You seem to enjoy it, no offense. If you like using Windows, that's fine by me.

Being able to disable copilot is not an opinion. lol. its a fact that it can be disabled.

People can dislike Windows all they want. But I will call out the over-exaggerations, misconceptions, half truths, and lies about it.

Tired of the entire "BUT BUT BUT WINDOWZ SPYWARE!!!" thing too, when the same people give out tons of their personal info to plenty of other companies but say nothing about it.

@RedColoredStars, Companies do the exact same thing with other companies as well, so it's not just Microsoft. There are 3rd-parties like 'data brokers'.

I'm 52 years old and one of my jobs in life was marketing research. Im well aware. I've been online for around 30 years. Everyone and their grandmother already has my personal information. One more having my email address isn't ruining my life or even effecting me in any way whatsoever.

In fact. I freely give info. Stuff like gasoline apps, to save $, grocery apps, lots of cash back from rakuten, etc. etc.

$300 back last year from Rakuten for allowing them to track my purchase. I'll take the money for them to know I bought a bunch of stuff for my cat and some video games. lol

And for people to say things like "But I use all fake info". No, they don't. lol. They use fake info for all of their banking and online shopping? Fake shipping address, fake payment info? lol
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
Fake name, address and payment info for internet service, etc? lol. Ill say it again. Everyone freaks out about OMG WINDOWS!! But crickets on anything else they do.
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
Other windows stuff people complain about hypocritically too. Like "But but but Windows bundle junk apps!!!!" Yeah?? So do many Linux distributions. Dont like it? Use one without them. Same with windows. Either find a pre-made version without the bundled stuff, or very easily make your own installer with what you want and do not want.
