OK long story short. I have a PAL Wii I have a stackload of PAL GC games.
I want to use my HDTV at it's best but I'm forced into 50Hz or 60Hz interlaced PAL when playing GC games.

Is there any simple way to force the GameCube games into 480P?

I have had a limited amount of success with the following method:[*]Using AnyRegionChanger to make my Wii into a "USA" one.[*]Using GC boot to load F ZeroGX while holding BI have had my PAL copy of F-ZeroGX running in 480p!

Unfortunately the region change made many of my other PAL GameCube games completely unplayable.

Anyone have any ideas of how to achieve this capability simply without a chip, or how to get all my PAL GC games running on the "NTSC" Wii?
Hmmm I kinda misread the context of this section I think (I'm a little tired from tinkering... sorry) Someone please move this to Wii Hacking maybe? or a more appropriate section.

Just an update: I've found that all that's needed is to use Anyregion changer to set ONLY the game region to USA.
Then you can either use GCBoot or Starfall GC discs to be region free.
Still F-Zero GX is the only game I've had working in 480p...

I may be totally wrong - but from what I remember, I though all of the PAL games had the code removed to allow them to run in 480p?

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
