Hardware OMG Another IPS post..

I'm looking people who have either the Mario 3D land or Pokemon 20th version N3DS that have dual ips, or if the Super Black/White Mario version.. Basically I am looking to see how many have a dual IPS, I want to get another N3DS, and if I can chance the serial to give me a better shot at dual ips that would be great.. If all else fails, and I go 3DSXL what model do you have with dual ips and serial..

Dual IPS does drain the battery faster, so I'd imagine a bottom TN + top IPS combo would work best. The three new 3DS I've had all had TN screens.

Yea I have thought about that, it really does not bother if it drains any more then normal.. I don't do long gaming sessions on 3ds, I'm usually on my pc or ps4, this is just used here an there to enjoy some away from home game play..

Have you found anyone else with the same screens on the same system? I know there like 400 bucks, cause there now "rare" so I don't know if I'm willing to drop that for a 3ds lol did you do any research before you bought it, or was it a super lucky draw?

I was hoping for it when I ordered it off gamestops website, but I didn't have my hopes up for it, especially since it was from random choice online order. That was around the time I actually learned about IPS so imagine my delight when I open it and see dual IPS screens lol.
I personally haven't seen anyone irl or any of my friends get dual IPS or even one IPS screen with their purchases, but online I've seen a couple folks.

Mario 3D Land serials with 10.7 (don't really matter now) and Dual IPS confirmed are YW7010/YW7011. YW7012 onwards is random. (top IPS/TN, bottom IPS/TN, Dual IPS or Dual TN)

You can replace the screens for IPS ones. There's someone in I saw in a IPS post that changed them.

You can buy the cover plates, but it'll have a white inner case

Oh that works too I thought you were talking about something you found on Google lol
