I couldn't find the original patch, only a pre-patched rom.
I did find the pdf file that lists the locations of the wild pokemon.

So, I created an x-delta patch from the pre-patched rom and the Xenophobia release.

Please follow these instructions exactly.

This patch is for the English version of Pokemon Bloody Platinum.
It requires a rom of 3541 - Pokemon - Platinum Version (USA)

You will also need xdelta UI:
http://www.romhacking.net/utils/598/

IF YOU HAVE THE XENOPHOBIA VERSION :

Patch with the "bug fix patch" only, and your game will be ready to play.
(It's not actually a bug fix btw, just named that way to make the file less suspicious, lulz)

HOWEVER, IF YOU HAVE THE NO-INTRO REDUMP:

Patch with "Revert to Old Version" FIRST, then patch with the "bug fix patch", and your game will be ready to play.

Here's the download:

Hey,

I've downloaded the patch that you just posted.

Unfortunately, the rival always chooses Treecko.
Is there any way to either get an updated patch, or enter a cheat code that will change the rivals team to the one that is shown?

I just wanted to play the game the way it was meant to be played

(I assume you're speaking to me)

I'm afraid there is no patch anywhere on the Internet.
All you'll find are copies of the rom already patched.
And every copy of the pre-patched rom that I've found--and I've tried a half dozen--all have the same CRC of 63CE379B, meaning they are all the same file.
There is no other version (that I can find anywhere)

I made the patch with XDelta GUI from a copy of the unpatched rom and a copy of the pre-patched rom.
Using my patch on a copy of "Pokemon - Platinum Version (USA)" by Xenophobia will give you a rom with a CRC of 63CE379B.
You will then have the same patched rom file as the ones you can find all over the Internet.

For those of you having trouble using my patch for whatever reason, just Google "pokemon bloody platinum" and in less than 5-10 minutes, you'll find a copy of the rom already patched.

(And finally, although I made this patch, I did NOT create the hack itself. Credit for that goes to Buffy...where did she go, anyways?

I used to play this on an emulator, never got around to finishing, but does anyone know if theres a way to get this to work on R4 Ultra running Akaio 1.8.1? It doesn't seem to work for me.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
