My kids switch no longer outputs video from the Dock. It will try to output and physically turns on the tv with HDMI sync when enabled. I've tried multiple TV's and they all detect a device on the port but still no video. This also only happens if the switches screen happens to be turned on when I put it on the dock. If the screen is off it will not send the signal to the tv to turn on and the tv detects no device on the HDMI port. I don't have another switch to try with the dock but it almost seems like the dock itself is fine. I found this old thread https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-with-no-display-on-tv.552653/ and am wondering if this could be the culprit or if there is something else I should look for?

You should test your filters under PI3USB for continuity.
Just watched a video where a guy did just that and found one bridged. Think I'll wait till I have some replacements since this one has never been opened so the chances of it being bridged are pretty small and it's most likely a dead one. Plus I don't really have the proper equipment to remove or reattach them since I think a heat gun would be a little too much.

It could also be your USB-C connector.
Sometimes the connector itself is damaged with missing pins or in some cases the pins connecting it to the mainboard come loose.
Other than that, broken filters can be bridged temporarily (but they are there for a reason).
Or the PI3USB chip might be damaged but that doesn't happen so often.

The reason I don't think it's the USB port is due to the fact that it does indeed attempt to connect to any tv I plug it in to and the tv sees that there is a device there. Once I decide to take it apart I'm just hoping it's not something too difficult to replace. If it's the USB port I think I'll just leave it since that looks like a real pain to swap out and I have little patients for what it would most likely require. Playing in docked mode would be nice again though. I'm pretty positive it is one of the filters. This is the video I checked out and it does the exact same thing before the filter was removed and reattached.

Most likely USB-C needs to be replaced on leaned thoroughly. My dock had the problem when connected to HDMI DVI port, now I am having it connected to HDMI ARC and it had no problems so far.
