I figured we were just measuring consoles like we do regular computers, now. Just spec vs. spec.
Honestly, I don't see why people would be surprised that Nintendo would move into computer software. While WE know them as a console game company, they've always had a varied product line. They started out making baseball cards or something like that.
They have the facilities and resources that they could easily release a whole new line of computer software in any direction they want. It could be PC-exclusive versions of their games, spin-offs that don't work on consoles, companion programs that work WITH consoles, financial software, their own OS ('cause..why not?), or maybe it'll be industrial software that powers new CT Scanners in hospitals and creates interactive menus and such for restaurants!
