I ordered a set of transparent joycon shells, I've seen a few screenshots but i dont think they do it justice, im more than happy to take some photos of mine, for science ofcourse

Clear shells are awesome. I got one for my PSP 3000. It looks amazing.

Will do, ive been tracking my order and it finally passed through UK customs, yay!

But yeah i will try and help all I can, its just so fustrating when your trying to decide what do do

If it's got a rugged or matt surface like the official ones I'm buying it for sure. A little bit hesitant if it's a smooth surface but it sure looks awesome. I almost find it strange we haven't seen led modded joycons in the clear shell on youtube already.

They aren't exact, but they feel very similar to the original. The only problem I had was needing to file certain parts because of molding issues, but once it was together it looked and felt great. Doesn't make the switch or joycon feel cheaper

Just watched this and wow the Switch back cover replacement looks easy. I am guessing the joycons are harder to replace? But yeah damn... i feel like replacing my housing at some point.

Well, I wouldn't call it hard, I would call it time-consuming and confusing (because the high amount of parts you have to remove). But it's pretty doable if you take your time:

Well my cases finally arrived but I've used the wrong screwdriver, and ofcourse I've ruined half the screws on my joycon, now I'm waiting for some more to attempt the mod again

Hey there, my replacement screwdriver set arrived a day early (Thanks royal mail!) and they fitted the tri-wing screws on the switch perfectly and even worked on the screw i ruined!
After i got one joycon took apart, i instantly thought it was outta my league (Its so small, ribbon cables, lots of stuff stuck on etc) so all I decided to do was change the ABXY buttons to coloured ons, then put it back together again with a clear back

Ive modded a GB DMG and a GBA, this is completely different, more akin to modern mobile phone repairs....



PS. If anybody is needing a screwdriver kit, i used this (The white screwdriver is what i used)

Also, the screwdrivers that come with replacement wii u screens, will work perfectly fine on the switch hardware also.
