Neon Giant's upcoming action-shooter The Ascent got a new trailer today that showcases the game’s co-op capabilities. Indeed, while it can be played in solo, The Ascent also supports up to three friends in local or online co-op as you venture forth in its cyberpunk world to determine what started a chain of catastrophic events. To help you progress, you will be able to modify your character with cyberware that suits your playstyle

Mega-corporation The Ascent Group, that owns everyone including yourself, has just collapsed. Can you survive without it? The survival of your district is threatened: rival corporations are trying to force appropriation and crime syndicates are looking to boost their black-market augmentation trade. You must take up arms to stop them from seizing control and embark on a new mission to find out what started it all.

The Ascent will launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles and PC later this year and the co-op mode will be available from launch. It will be playable with Xbox Game Pass for Console and PC at launch and target 60 fps and full 4K support on the Xbox Series X.

There's some screenshots in that game that seem almost identical to the trailer's.
Man, these top-down shooters all look the same or something, uh...
