I downgraded a min ago. Can I just do a 9.2 directly? Isn't it possible to just update the 3DS?Do a 9.2 ctrtransfer
I mean the guide says that you shouldn't update an New 3DS since 2.1 is an Old 3DS firm but wouldn't it be safe to update on an Old 3DSDo you want to brick?
Keep reading the guideI mean the guide says that you shouldn't update an New 3DS since 2.1 is an Old 3DS firm but wouldn't it be safe to update on an Old 3DS
Also if I can't where can I find the 9.1 ctrnand transfer?
if it is an o3ds you can safely updateI mean the guide says that you shouldn't update an New 3DS since 2.1 is an Old 3DS firm but wouldn't it be safe to update on an Old 3DS

So I just continue the guide until the 9.2 Transfer?Keep reading the guide
The OP won't brick, they have an O3DS. You CAN update an O3DS from 2.1.0 via System Update but not on a N3DS. This is because firmware 2.1.0 is an official firmware released for the O3DS and the N3DS firmware started at 8.X.X-XX. So basically the N3DS can't check for a firmware that old as it was never an officially released firmware for the N3DS.Do you want to brick?

Ah, I see. Google only pulled up the USA launch info. Thanks for correcting me. Although my point still stands.new 3ds started on 8.x.x-xx if you count the Japanese launch version.
Only after installing A9LH or does it work directly after the downgrade to 2.1?OP should update directly to 11.2 via system settings once you have a9lh, you'll be fine.
Yes, after you install A9LH just update system from the system settings.Only after installing A9LH or does it work directly after the downgrade to 2.1?
But what if it fails to boot after installing Luma like "Failed to mount CTRNAND" or just a plain black screen?Yes, after you install A9LH just update system from the system settings.
My point was you can't brick from updating an "O3DS" from 2.1.0 from updating. If you follow the guide it tells you to restore your NAND with Hourglass9 and use the "Restore (keep a9lh)". If you started from 11.2 OFW then you won't need to do a System Update, however not all people update to the latest firmware before installing A9LH so they have to do a System update. If you said you lost your NAND backups, how are you going to restore your system, the only way is to update the system like most of us have been saying.Section IV - Restoring the System
If, before following this guide, you already had an EmuNAND setup and would like to move the contents of your previous EmuNAND to your new SysNAND CFW, now is the time to follow Move EmuNAND instead of doing the first four steps in this section.
- Open Hourglass9 from arm9loaderhax by holding (Start) on boot
- Go to “SysNAND Backup/Restore”
- Go to “SysNAND Restore (keep a9lh)” and restore from NANDmin.bin
- Press (Start) to reboot
- If you get a black screen, follow 9.2.0 ctrtransfer
- If your backup was of a version between 3.0.0 and 4.5.0, your console will not boot until you manually download the required firmware:
- Update your 3DS by going to System Settings, then “Other Settings”, then going all the way to the right and using “System Update”
- Updates while using A9LH + Luma (what you have) are safe, stop asking about it
- The warning about never updating a New 3DS from 2.1.0 does not apply after restoring your NAND backup.
- If this gives you an error, set your DNS settings to “auto”
- If this still gives you an error and your NAND is below 9.2.0, follow 9.2.0 ctrtransfer
