my advice is: don't use the name of a person (a first name like jimmy, lola, whatever) because it always feels awkward when you meet someone bearing this name.
Who likes to have a dog's name? I would feel offended if my friend used my first name for his dog. Okay, this is a cat but still... !

Shiva, Thora, Smurf (never let your little brothers name cats), Flynn and Megan (she was a rescue cat so has no interesting name).

It is for this reason I suggest semi mythological name, I would go for Norse names (Sleipnir would be my choice) but go with whatever you like
