My nintendo dsi turns off in sleep mode

I need help, I recently bought a used Nintendo DSi and when I close the console in some game on my r4 it shuts down instead of going into sleep mode, the only game where it doesn't happen for some reason is mario 64 DS.

I got the same thing. When I close my DSi when I'm running a game on my R4 Card, the DSi shuts down. I'm not exactly sure why this happens, but it's not a big issue for me.
