My parents have never had much money (i'm the youngest of 5 kids, and only my mum works a pretty crappy job), so when i was younger we never got much (example; one year, as a joint present for me and my brother, for both our birthdays+christmas presents, they chipped in half the money for an N64. I dont know how much this was at the time, but y'know. The thing is, we loved it!)

And then growing up, when all my siblings have eventually left home, I knew I could never get that much (dad never worked...), so I never asked for much or got my hopes up. If i asked for money I got around £15, which isnt alot compared to most in this thread, but I guess you live to your means.

So yeah, I never get randomly given cool gifts, or get anything expensive like new computers, or whatever for special occasions, but I still have everything I want, I just save up for it myself. And I like to think, having worked for it, I enjoy it that little bit more.

My parents have never been the wealthiest, but they've always pulled strings for me and my siblings in the past.

The last big thing I got from mi madre y padre was my first car. 'Twas an old, rusty Subaru Empreza, with faded paint and fiber glass covering the holes (The car was from PA, where there was a law against holes in the body). But boy, was I excited at the time!

Kinda OT but why do you keep inserting spanish words on your posts?

One day I was playing Paper Mario 2. Breaked for dinner while doing the Pit of trials. Went to check something in my room and saw a box wrapped in newspaper. I asked my parents what it was and they said open it. Within was a my Wii. I turned off my GC and started setting it up.

I got my PC as a birthday/graduation present.

A 4 gig mp3 player back in grade 8. Back then, 4 gigs used to be around 200 bucks. They also bought me a gameboy color when I was in grade 4.

The Mp3 player was a Christmas gift. I never received anything from my parents.

My mom (I love her to death) always tries to beat me with discipline, but then always rewards me for weird reasons. If I help her move a table, maybe she'll buy me a game for the PS3. Clean the house? A kiss. I really don't get it. Anyway... I helped her my cleaning the basement and she went ahead and made the promise of getting me Super Mario Galaxy 2. I frickin' love her so much!

Nothing really out of the blue though.

even "rich" people can buy them. Not only original games

Yea but to play the next gen games, you must have those games on internal, or buy the official ssd expansion cards, which are expensive
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, dunno what each one of those are

@MysticStarlight, my PS3 was already modded when my dad bought it for me and my brother

A surge protector is a device that protects your electronics from fluctuations. I recommend having your console plugged into one of those
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
An UPS is even better because it has an internal battery that keeps your system on even if the power goes out, but it's much more expensive obviously
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, oh i recall seeing one in some in the houses of some relatives, including my dad's apartment

On the series s/x you can use a external HD but any next gen games must be on your internal ssd, or you can buy a ssd expansion card, but pricey. Any xbone, 360, or og Xbox games can be played from external tho.
