Gaming My DS Hopes For 2007

All I'm hoping for for 2007 is ZELDA!!!!!!!!!!Â

And i hope that they would create a smash brothers game for the DS with Wifi.

they have said that SSMB will not come to the ds. yes this is sad =(.


however, a nice 3d zelda game would be awesome. awesome to the max.

Some time ago, I might have been with the majority - some updates from classic franchises, like Mario/Kid Icarus/Startropics/F-Zero, etc. However, I am tired of playing continual sequels, updates and remakes. Really tired. Maybe not everyone can, but I can go back and play all of those great games at any time via NES/SNES/GBA emulators, flashkits, a modded xbox, etc. I don't need to keep buying the same games or 're-imagined' versions of those games, no matter how good they are/were.

I want new games.

Let me say that again - I want NEW games.

Games like Trauma Centre, Phoenix Wright, the brain games, etc. The market has proven that it's ready and willing to soak up new games. Sure, sink some of the development cash into your proven sequels and sports franchise updates to guarantee cashflow - but lets get some new stuff out there! As fun as Maniac Mansion DS might be, you can pretty much have it already with your favourite compatible flashcart and ScummVM DS. As cool as the idea is, Lucasarts is simply not going to make a new title in the series nor are they going to port the existing ones to the DS.

We need to remember the games that make us nostalgic, the ones that brought us into gaming - but there are tons of ways to keep playing through those games when we get the urge. What we really need are new games to propel us forward into a new generation of gaming.

NEW GAMES. PLEASE! NEW, NEW, NEW!

I think I would most like to see better use of the Wifi, it seems rather tame at the moment. Restricted chat in things like 42-classic games and not being able to communicate with people unless you have each others friend codes added.

In games such as Animal Crossing,while I know that a list of all the "open" towns willing to have visitors would be crazy but perhaps some form of random visits (they could restrict it for people over X age if they were worried about security!) or even one sided friend code visits... so if you have added someones friend code but they havent add you! Perhaps it could bring up some form of Friend ID card (showing name and a few details) and the person could choose to accept or not.

I know this is about an old game... but I'm sure it will apply to new games with a similar format.

Some voice chat in an official game would be nice to. Again it would be kind of pointless if it was limited to those you have a friend code of.

A localized version of Gyakuten Saiban 3 (kinda likely), something new on the RPG-front (preferably a new game with fresh roots, no sequels... although I could do with another FF-game) and lots of new adventure games (am I the only one still in love with this genre? While I like the interactiveness of RPGs, I must say I prefer straight storytelling, even though it'll happen on behalf of interactivity).
