Hey guys. I keep bumping into this 6TB or 8TB Xbox 360

I can't post links yet, so please take a look at the image.

This guy is actually selling such, but why would any of us buy when we've got a perfectly working system simply starving of harddrive space.

There are 3x 2TB internal harddrives, and with an external it can be 8TB.

Supposedly the Onboard memory unit can be replaced with a 2TB harddrive. Some sort of adapter, or soldering required?

It shows USB 0 and USB 1 in use, so I take it it'd be easier to simply have 2 external drives. That'd help, but only up to 6TB.

Does anyone actually have one of these systems, or could we figure it out?

I appreciate any help, and frankly I thought it'd be a hot topic, but with my Googlefu I can find no instruction whatsoever how this was accomplished!

PS. At least my current 2TB internal and 2TB external are quite full, as the whole library is 11TB and the system has tons of XBLA & DLC, not to mention the emulators... Transferring games is annoying and slow, so I'd rather keep them all ready.

There's a patch in the works that allows for 16 TB partitions.

Sounds nice, and will certainly save money buying 1 big drive rather than 2TB ones. Although I'm more interested of what can be done right now. That patch requires NAND flashing, and a lot of work still left. A way to format such large drives in the required FATX format doesn't exist yet, so even a formatting tool needs to be implemented. Glad to know the 360 hacking scene is far from dead though.

I've honestly not done a lot on with 360s for quite a while ;p
I guess it's just a matter of being patient.

it's certainly better then the endless paid mod menus that have been released..

There were extra spare unused internal usb's I have used them my self for that purpose.

I fitted an extra usb to sata hdd with a hard wired adaptor to a trinity mem port for an extra 2tb of storage and I guess you could add more solderin an extra adaptor g to the external USB ports wihin the console.

My idea was to b live safe so when I run the stock nand homebrew software is hidden from the os as the port is disabled by the stock nand image and that was my main goal.

The trinity console is max 120w draw and has a 135w powersupply as they envisioned extra devices to be connected to the kinect/aux port in the back so it has a bit of overhead for an extra hdd or two.

Users have reported issues with Aurora with heaps of games across multiple harddirives but I have not had this issue my self so be cautious.

Eaton Zevare has a kernel patch in the works as above said by dinohscene for 16tb drive support, I an a beta tester for him and convinced him to add this for the original Xbox by simply increasing the cluster size to 128k, and it evolved to a major patch.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
