Honestly, I do not know why I like it, other than just having all of the tools in one app. I have them seperately already. I just like the way ver 12.8 with Hackmii worked out. I guess there are a lot of people that gave Wiiwu a hard time about redistributing the MMM build with Hackmii.
I just thought I would ask to see if anyone had it.

I don't know if this was ever presented as an idea, but a great idea it is. would it be possible to add a check into the program to see if there is a working system menu ios and system menu installed before exiting? if the check didn't match you can then force the user to install this before exiting. of course a hard power off would ignore this, but it could be helpful for someone who is forgetful (or noobish).

i would never brick a wii, but i think this would be a cool feature.

WiiWu, got another idea for u, feel free to disregard it if u don't like it

but how about adding the ability to install a patched IOS236 (in addition to IOS36). This will satisfy the "purists" who don't like patching IOS36 (fyi, TBR already offers this same choice)

That's easy.

All it needs to do is decrypt isfs:/title/00000001/00000002/data/setting.txt and read the serial number that is stored in it.

MMM may need certain priveleges in order to access setting.txt though...

...unless it's running under cIOS249

That would be a nice little feature to add...

WiiWu, may you please try to add the ability to display the serial number in the "Display Wii System Info" section?

...and maybe even a way to modify it too?

...or do you think that to be a tad dubious?

Ah true...

...the setting.txt replacer.

...all the more reason to add the feature, right?

The possibility to change it to what is supposed to be would be very nice too, even if it isn't necessary.

TBH, I just like it being displayed there (like what Nintendo's Wii Backup Disc ver 1.31 does) as a cosmetic feature. Don't know why though, I just like it.

Apparently there are also people region-changing cheap Korean Wiis, then applying a fake serial no. on them then selling them. It would be useful to identify such consoles, since I doubt that the people doing this would not have the know-how of changing the internal serial no.

And this would help prevent error 003 for several people since they would then know that their Wii would be Korean.

...But if MMM is running under IOS70, I suppose it could just use ioctl 0x45 instead.

WiiWu, do you think you could add an ability to MMM to do this too?
