Miiverse has shut down

IMG_5465.JPG

Nintendo has pulled the plug on Miiverse, tonight. The service ran 5 years, letting users on the 3DS and Wii U draw pictures and share screenshots online. Users, and even Nintendo staff took a moment to say their farewells to the short-lived community. It even trended on social media for a brief moment, as people posted their favorite images, silly posts, and artwork. Trying to access Miiverse will now result in an error code on Nintendo consoles.

He's just tryna show off his tech.

He also edited with a high end PC and a High End Graphics card, equiped with a 20 terabyte SSD, and a High End Oled display. His toilet paper is made of 100 dollar bills and he's editing his vids on a 1 million dollar yacht.
I don't think you need that to make a Miiverse video...

Why did they decide to shut Miiverse down anyway?
Damn, Nintendo. If they weren't so strict, Miiverse could have been the new Flipnote Hatena.
Was fun to find people to play games with. Really wish they didn't make the post limit 30 per day. I get that they didn't intend for people to use it to roleplay, but still since it's mostly text I doubt it was that hard to host.

Although a lot of people seem not care about Miiverse existence, several game features have been compromised by shutting it down (like video sharing in Mario Kart 8 and Sm4sh), I thought the certain time to shutdown Miiverse would be when all online service Wii U/3DS is descontinued, but making it now has consequentialy made a lot of online features being unstable.

i didnt use it but i liked the art that people made using it. also for mario maker the level sharing was convenient as well as the art and help that people made like the story levels. but then again i dumped my wii u and use cemu anyway lol.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
