I'm running mgba on a new model 3ds xl and I installed the software as a cia file. All the games run great but unfortunately there is no sound at all. I tried gpsp, which does have sound but it's very buggy. Is there a fix to this sound issue or perhaps a workaround? Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't use an emulator anymore since there are VC Injects and those run perfectly.

EDIT: Ninja'd

Hello,

I haven't tried VC injection, but it seems to be more complicated than just using an emulator and a game file.

Anyway, I've just understood why the sound is not working on some mgba installations and not on others!

mgba is relying on some DSP code and you need to dump a dspfirm.cdc from your system.

There are some tools on github which can get this file:

I can't post the direct link here because I'm a new user, search for DspDump by Cruel and DSP1by zoogie.

The first one didn't work for me, the second did (I'm using luma)

Once it's installed, you'll get sounds in mgba!

yes, the first one is using "*hax 2.0+", which I don't have, it's probably the reason. The second one is in .cia and worked for me. Those tools are fairly old, and since there are a lot different tutorials, I prefer not to break the current CFW I'm using, which is working fine.
