I put one of the images into the menuhax folder and named it imagedisplay, but when ever i start my 3ds up, it still shows the static

You'll need to go into Menuhax Manager first, fourth option on initial menu is 'configure menuhax main-screen image display'. It'll 'install' the image so it'll be displayed on following bootups.
