I can't wait.

Seriously, the script got leaked online awhile back and it's hysterical. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Turns out they're aliens. Not even joking.

I'm just going to ignore this one. I was able to look past the Transformers butchery because they were decent action flicks, but this movie will be a kick in the canonical nads. I had a crush on April O'Niel at one time... At one time!!!

I thought the Teenage Mutant Ninja Aliens script got canned, and that Michael Bay stepped away from the project entirely or something to that effect. If this news is true then the bad just turned worse!

At any rate, it is refreshing to see so many here who are not fans of Michael and this skank. So thank you for that! ;)

yah, and Bay got a TON of crap from it, because it kind of kills just about every aspect of the name.

Teenage( well they can't really be teen-aged since they are not from earth, though this one you could argue)

Mutant (they are aliens, so the mutant part is out of the picture)

Ninja (they can't be ninjas if they haven't been trained as a ninja...which is ON EARTH...THEY ARE ALIENS DAMNIT)

Turtles (THEY'RE F*CKEN ALIENS!)

Eh, I don't know, I don't even think the Transformers films are good as action films. They're not shot very well, the robots all blend together, the humor is insultingly juvenile at its best and racist at its worst, the human characters are either forgettable or annoying, and they're extremely overstuffed.

It's not that I'm against action flicks or anything, and I've never even seen any of the Transformers shows beyond bits and pieces here and there, but I just don't get the appeal of these movies.

I said decent not memorable. If I get enough entertainment from them to justify the ticket cost I a-okay. Maybe I'm just easily entertained or something I don't know.

Those bits and pieces that you saw...

...that's the entire movies.

I sadly watched 1 and 2 all the way through and 3 I only saw what was in the previews. I will say that 1 was the least horrible of the two, but still not something I desire to ever watch again. I felt dumber for it, and I should not feel dumb when watching Transformers because I'm a Beast Wars and Beast Machine veteran, I know good story telling when I see it, and Michael Bay's strong point is not his story telling. Actually I'm not sure what Michael Bay's strong point is. Making huge profits off the sleeping masses? Oh yes, I suppose that is one. I imagine that the guy who takes his girl friend to Michael Bay films is the same guy who has to make it up to her by going to see Shallow Hal, or Zoo Keeper, and more than likely, he will laugh, legitimately laugh his ass off and ROLFL whilst typing those very same letters on his cell phone, to his girl friend, who is sitting right next to him no less. And he does all this, not because he is trying to score points with his girl friend so he can go to bed with a smile that evening, but rather, because like Transformers, he actually thought those films were hilarious and related to his demographic.

Alright, I'm being mean, but you know what? Half the time that very same scenario is true. It's a mad mad world and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are sewer dwelling mutants no more.

Oh well, at least we still have C.H.U.D.

That's not a slam against you or anything. I just see that sentiment a lot and it leaves me puzzled; I just don't understand what the appeal is.

I suppose that's why Bay has $100's of millions of dollars to his name and I don't, but still.

Ack! It's not getting any harder to make fun of ol' Michael Bay, is it? :P

Ah well. He makes stinker after stinker, and he's still free to do his thang on an immensely grandiose scale and a seemingly-unlimited budget. He must be doing something right!

Unlike many, I actually have nothing against Megan Fox, and thought she did ok in Transformers. But having watched various incarnations of Ninja Turtles, I think it's safe to say Megan Fox is the worst possible choice to portray April. Seriously, she looks nothing like her (in ANY incarnation), and I just can't imagine her grasping April's personality. I'm not even going to bother hoping that half the movie isn't the camera ogling her, like in Transformers. *Sigh*...

But despite all that, I know I'll probably see it anyway.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
