Tried MK8D in black and white and had a fine experience but I could not tell which were the green shells and red shells apart. :P On the 'psychedelic mode' that's where things got a little bit crazy and it started giving me a headache so I just switched it back to normal.

Wow that was really useful information. That will help us improve our Nintendo Switch knowledge!

Seriously though, whats so important about it to NOT post it on the EoF?

Supposedly for colour blind people but what of the psychedelic view?
if those settings were intended for colourblind people, Nintendo really screwed it up. inverted colours make no sense, and monochrome greatly limits visibility. they should've done something like in Android.

Half of the threads anywhere don't make sense in this

Tritanomaly is so rare, I really must respect the Android for even bothering. Thanks Google. And thanks!

Sometimes for some visually impaired people, inverted colors might make things easier to read or make out. Can't understand why that's necessary for games, though. As for black and white, it may save a very very minuscule amount of battery, but it's otherwise useless. Oh well.

Black and white (greyscale) does indeed result in barely noticeable less eye strain for me.
I prefer to get my eyes more tired and keep the colors there, but just saying.

Inverted colors in the other hand make my eyes pull themselves out of their sockets. I can't even recognize people silhouettes automatically, everything requires a where's waldo amount of effort, weird...

tbh it probably took almost no effort to add in so some dev on the os team just through it in for laughs cause why not

Both of you do know if you look at the inverted colors long enough, and close your eyes or better yet, look at a bright wall, and the correct color will come to your mind. Try it, you might be amaze.

Actually I know you's think it's pointless but I'm sure monochrome (Black & White) should also save battery life as it's not rendering colour as well

Maybe so but playing in black and white you're just not able to differentiate red shells from green shells and vice-versa. Thankfully there's no yellow shells, purple shells, khaki shells, black shells, brown shells or whatever-shells. :P Well, there's the blue shell but that's a beast and looks way different than red/green shell.

Speaking of shells, I hope Mario Kart 9 will have new shells. :)

I realized I may not have been clear in my previous post, so to try to make it much clearer, you have to stare at the inverted stilled colored image for roughly 30 sec to 1 min. This can hurt your eyes especially the staring part, then close your eyes, and you should see the corrected colored pictures. Here is one you can try:
Stare at Rosalina's brooch but make sure the entire image is within your sight. Also try not to blink or have any movement in your eyes.

LOL, yeah, it isn't easy, but is possible. Eyes tearing up, can hinder the process. However everyone eyes are different and may react differently, however it will still hurts though much more then the 3DS 3D effect that some people have problems with.

@Xdqwerty No you heard wrong, and don't believe till you experience yourself. Fallout 4 is one of my favorite games of all time. Yes it had issues early on, esp with older hardware like the xbox1, but it is awesome, esp now being 4k on Series S/X or PS5

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you right there, fallout 76 was a letdown, but it not that bad now, they have fixed slot of issues they had at launch. Biggest issue with Fallout 76 is its a pay to advance further type of game, which sucks
