I haven't played this game in a long time, but I suppose more tracks is a pretty good reason to, since the main reason I stopped playing was a result of getting bored with repeating the same selection over and over.

Just return back automatic driving mode already, can't stand manual, we all drive like clones. Jump, charge, boost, in the corner jump, charge, boost, gets very, very boring and reduce bump effect where slightest touch of another vehicle throws you off the track and less predictable item you'll get at what point of race, get hit by blue shell literally just before crossing the finish line at the final lap, how many times 🤦

Mario kart Wii was last good one. -snip-

I'm hyped for Mushroom Gorge and Waluigi Pinball. Didn't imagine they'd make original courses, which is nice.
The graphics still didn't get fixed, though, sadly. The contrast between base-game and DLC art styles is terrible.

Great additions, seeing these old tracks makes me want to go back and play some of the old handheld mariokarts

Time to dust of the DS in anticipation

imo, may be just me but the graphics look better compared to the first wave. There is still that artstyle clash (Especially with the tracks from Tour) but it's not as noticeable or apparent

still not getting it. broke :-(

If you have NSO you dont need to buy the DLC. Just one person you match with needs it, which is very likely given I've played lots of rounds of the new maps for wave 1 and did not purchase the DLC. its really only if you wanted to play those offline.

I didn't realize the booster pass would receive any brand new courses, I'm aware Sundae will later make its way to Tour, but still, cool that it will be home to some new courses that didn't appear elsewhere first.

They take so much time to release tracks that are already made

I've played them for quite some time with my little sisters, I didn't even said anything but they expressed that they felt the races were less fun and uglier than the rest. Some friends told me I was nitpicking and « meh it's not too expensive, it's more tracks » but my sisters telling me that even they felt it was worse than the other races .... « la vérité sort de la bouche des enfants » as we say (just looked for a translation of it : Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings come grains of truth »)

If for whatever reason they would release a Mario Kart 9, at least most of the courses of this DLC would be added.
What makes you think of that ? You give Nintendo too much credit lol. They will probably remake some races but I don't see why they would add this DLC to a sequel

Can't see a sequel ever happening. By the end of 2023 the switch will be how old?? If there was to be a sequel it would definitely be on the next console by then and like most of the series, it prob will have a lot of these as the retro tracks but I'm willing to bet the next venture is more vr based like that daft toy thing and the camera round your house for Miyamototo spy on you

I'm happy with the course selection, Mushroom Gorge and Waluigi Pinball are popular wishes, and a brand new course is always good. Though it's gonna be hard to Nintendo to finish releasing waves on time at the current rate.

What, 2 or 3 more to go after this? Seem fun.

I tried buying the first DLC, but it just forwarded me to the nintendo online premium page. At the time I tried, that was the only way. So I'm gonna pass until they're all out and i can actually purchase just these.

Actually there are 6 waves in total, and you can buy it alone, without subscription I believe.

I dunno, Smash Ultimate man. A Mario Kart game that follows suit by giving us every or near every retro course feels feasible now. Do I think that's the plan? Probably not, maybe they'd make 9 behave as both its own game and a full expansion to 8 if you already own that, like some modern & Knuckles lock-on technology that gives 9 all the courses from your copy of 8.

I really, really hate 'trickling' DLC with a passion, so it might as well not exist to me until all waves are released.
When I play games, I play them until I get done with them, just like most people I know.
I don't keep coming back now and then for short bursts of the same experience.

I miss actual expansion packs A LOT. The last game I remember to have something almost like it was Horizon: Zero Dawn.
