Man, it's been ages since I last came here. I used to post here as Rod like, 8 or 9 years ago or so. I remember doing the first index of NDS translations. Good times.

(First of all, thanks dimok for the homebrew and Cyan for the thread!)

I have an issue with the Loadiine GX2 which I haven't seen mentioned much around here. I'm running 5.5.2 through the browser exploit - which, surprisingly, is working fine the vast majority of the time! The thing is, once I load a game, if I try to go back to the Wii U Menu to load another game, it usually crashes. Like, a lot. Every once in a while it does work, and loads the Wii U Menu so I can enter MiiMaker again and choose another title. Yet, it's rare, and I really wish I hadn't need to resort turning off the system every time I change the game like it's 1999.

Is this a common problem, freezing when returning to the Wii U Menu after loading a game on Loadiine? Is there anything I can do about it? Is there a way to "reboot" or reset the MiiMaker/Loadiine application once I'm in a game so I can get around this? (Also, I'm using the latest nightly build.)

Thanks in advance!

Loadiine GX2 & Loadiine GX2 Y both go to black screen, after booting from HBL (CBHC). No button works, I have to force power off.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Wait, does it even work on 5.5.2?

I'm on 5.5.2 and Loadiine GX2 works just fine. I'm using the newest nightly, which i found here: http://www.loadiine.ovh/gate.php?cat=downloads

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that you need one of the newest versions if your on 5.5.2. No idea about Loadiine GX2 Y though.

main different is "y mod" (yardape mod) has an option to unlock DLC you didn't pay for. It also has different menus and features.
the latest official doesn't have the pirated option and it's up to you to get the DLC or not the way you want (pirated or not), the loader just loads what you own, it doesn't provide things you don't own. the latest version has few fixes and can compile with latest devkitpro version in case you want to compile it yourself.

the drama was because people didn't understand the difference with "Loading" and "unlocking", all they cared was piracy. it's up to developers to choose the way they code their program. (tueidj required you to scan your retail gamecube disc, while nintendont didn't, his choice. nothing to discuss or start a drama over it)
Loadiine is open source, other devs did what they wanted, nothing wrong with that.
use the one you want.

Nice to see Dimok is still active :)

Hi!
Is there a way to go back to Loadiine after exiting a Game ?
When I try this it goes back to Home Menu, then I have to relaunch MiiMaker.
I'm looking for fewer steps.

I'm not a 100% sure, but I dont think this is possible. OP already mentions the fact that you don't have to run the exploit each time you exit a game in order to relaunch Loadiine, and the way it is said seems to suggest that's as convenient as it gets.

"Launching another game
While you are playing, if you want to launch another game, you don't need to re-run the browser exploit!
Loadiine is patched inside MiiMaker and will reload if you launch Miimaker again.

Game currently playing -> Press Home menu and exit to WiiU Menu -> Launch MiiMaker.

If you launched Loadiine from the Homebrew Launcher, You can exit loadiine to Homebrew launcher by pressing the Home button."

The last statement is the only other way and you'd still have to select Loadiine in the Homebrew Launcher, so it won't save you a click.

In any case, I get that being able to exit a game and simply go straight back to Loadiine would be desirable, but really, its ONLY 1 click

Hi XaneTenshi!

Thanks your your answer.
I thought there was some way like adding some config text in loadiine_gx2.cfg like I used to do with CFG Loader on regular Wii.
I thought also that there would be some workaround for custom firmwares.

Thanks anyway for letting me know.

So... am I still the only one who experiences freezes whenever leaving a game through Loadiine?

While I now prefer to install my games on NAND, DS emulation (and 2x resolution) is so much easier with it.

What? You don't need to format anything. You need to use SD cards, USBs won't work. Again, you don't need to format ANYTHING, and I don't know where people keep coming up with that...

You can store Wii U games AND other random files you want both on the same SD.
you have to format large sd cards as exfat for the wii u to see them. I just had to format a 128gb one. Also, you CAN use a hard drive. Use mocha cfw 32. It redirects all sd card calls to the hard drive. ALL of them. So you will also have to mirror all your homebrew on the hard drive since once you run it, the sd card isn't accessed any more.

I need a bit more info to go on than this. For starters:

How do you access Homebrew? Through Web Exploit, Haxchi etc.
When you say "won't load", do you mean you can't launch the Loadiine app from the homebrew Launcher?
Or can you boot up Loadiine but no games will start?

Are you sure you get nothing but a black screen?

At any rate, I'd like you to check the folder structure on the SD Card, just to make sure everything is as it should be. Also, is there a chance your Wii U Firmware was automatically updated?

I would like a Predator game "Kill Team" it takes place in the Jungle of the first movie, your team is sent to hunt the predator, using current tech drones and a trained team. Set traps use strategy to hunt and trap or kill the predator.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Ill stick with my Battlefield. Yea a predator hunting game like that would be cool. Esp if you can be Arnold and say "Get to da choppa"

I went today and looked at a motorcycle someone was selling. I get there and the battery on it was dead, so the guy grabbed a battery charger and hooked it up. He plugged it into the wall, and the motorcycle sparked and started smoking. Come to find out the bike uses a 6 volt battery and the guy had the charger set to 12v. I said sorry to the dude and walked away. I felt bad for him tho.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Sounds like it would be an exciting ride....

Not sure I would want something on fire between my legs
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
He ruined it basically. Sad cause it was a decent old bike. It would take more money to rewire the bike than it was worth tho.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah I'm sure at minimum the starter was fried
