They delayed BOTW originally because tons of new ideas, and then beacuse of the Switch.

I get what you're saying, but I still heavily doubt that it will be as intricate as the system in BOTW, nor do I think it will have been in development for 4 years. The gameplay in Mario is fairly simple compared to the likes of Zelda especially BOTW.

The gameplay of SMO looks like it'll be a mix of Mario 64 + Sunshine + Galaxy and 3D World. If it's "simple" then we shall see.
