pqi 2GB sd installs, but won't boot BootMii. It also won't allow the installation log to be written after the install.

That is strange, Kodak 2GB SD doesn't work for me. (It only works for install).

Kodak 2GB SD Card (No SDHC) - Install successfully, after install hackmii is unable to flush log and mount file system. No bootmii screen when rebooted with SD card in (FAT32).

HP SDHC 8GB card does not install bootmii using BannerBomb, but if the installed files are copied to it, it will work without problems.

Even though its listed as working,my sandisk 1gb micro would boot bootmii on startup, but would not allow nand backup(kept giving error through backup).
But my 1gb memorex had no probs at all 100%

just wanted to post up here with my findings as well.

I have a Kingston 512mb SD card that boots into bootmii instantaneously. The downside being of course not enough room to perform the nand dump. Good news is that i can use a 2 card method.

I use the 512 card to boot into bootmii, and then take that card out, insert my Kingston 2gb card. Then proceed to go into the nand dump and write it to the 2gb card. Voila perfect dump, no bad blocks! Safely stored away for backup.

The reason I had to go this route simply was because #1 the 512mb card is too small for the dump and #2 the 2gb wont boot, but works perfect in every other area.

So with that all said, im now happy as I feel alot more secure in messing about from here on out. Cheers.

- But if i run bootmii from IOS, i can save/read a nand backup on the sdhc

KINGSTON 2GB SD
- boots ok, saves/reads nand backup ok

I have a Kingston SDHC 8GB class 6 card that doesn't work, it works with the HBC but won't load into the Bootmii screen but I see the 4GB version of the SDHC card and it works fine, go figure

I have not been able to find this card for purchase online anywhere.

In fact, I have yet to read about any 8GB SDHC Class 6 card, micro or standard, that works 100% with the Wii and BootMii.

EDIT: I guess it's back to my 2GB SD card for now, which is a bummer. I was so excited about my $15 8GB SDHC Class 6 card and then I found out it won't work for the single purpose I bought it for.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
