I have collected all the translations for cfg 52a from the first page: DE, ES, FR, IT, NL.
Fixed various syntax errors and updated to cfg 52b messages
Messages that are missing a translation are in XX_miss.lang
which is for reference only, so that translators can find the missing pieces easier.

edit:
52b_lang2.zip
replaced fragmens with fragments

Hi Oggzee,

I updated the NL language file to V52 format and included the missing translations.
(follow the link on the first page to get the file).

Keep going with this fantastic loader

Latest version on above post (click here to go)

Version 0.8 of French translation file for Cfg Loader is here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=R0DY4TAJ.

There are still translations missing, those I talked about here and there.
Note: I crossed out fixed problems to be more clear.

I noticed that you changed line breaks inside lang file and with that my translation didn't appear anymore so I had to change it back.

For example with such translation:
msgid "Press A to select sorting method"
msgstr ""
"Appuyez sur A pour choisir la méthode\n"
" de tri"

What happens is that it displayed English text instead!

So instead I rewrote it into:
"Appuyez sur A pour choisir la méthode\n de tri"
And it displays correctly!

I did the same for other lines ("Press - button to delete FS.", etc.)

But no matter what I do "Are you sure you want to remove this game?"'s translation doesn't appear.

I also noticed some 16:9 issue.
In fact when Wii is setup in 16:9 instead of 4:3 text appears on 2 lines sometimes instead of 1
(It might come from my TV only which isn't 16:9 but I'm pretty sure the problem still exists on real 16:9 screens).
With English file you can see it sometimes like here (click): after "language" line there is some blank line.

With my translation the bug was more annoying as can see on these screenshot (click).

So I had to rewrite some sentences to make it work on 16:9.

Is it normal that you remove the [+] before:
[+] Select WBFS device:
That was causing line breaks issue in 16:9, wasn't it?

What is the number of characters per line?
I count 36 sometimes 37, or even 38.
Most of the time I think it's 38 in 4:3 but 37 in 16:9. Am I right?
But sometimes even if I have 37 characters it fits but add some blank line break after.
So what is advised? 36?

Instead of "Game Loading" I also noticed that there is "yal Loading" written instead.
What does it mean?
It is translated automatically into "yal Chargement" but it doesn't mean anything to me.

Last but not least I have some trouble with the program itself.
When trying to boot Disc (ie: Wii Sports Resort) it fails and show:
"Yal Loading..."
"Loading IOS55"
"ERROR: Apploader -4"

(By the way "ERROR" isn't translated but Apploader is)

Then I can't do anything, if I try to press any button to reset it doesn't so I have to press reset button on Wii itself.

And I almost forgot sometimes when I take screenshots it restarts Wii too.

Please let me know about all this, and about previous post translation missing too

The number of characters per line depends on your theme, specifically to what it sets the width part of "console_coords" and "wconsole_coords" to. Most people use a console them with the large3 layout, so you could use that as your guide if you like. Others will have smaller consoles in their themes and just have to live with the extra line breaks. I'd say to aim for 30 character in length most of the time. That should suit most people.

This is a bug in 52b. Ignore it.

Read back a few posts in the main Cfg thread. The new IOS stuff broke disc loading. gannon is trying to work out the issue.

If you take two screenshots in a row on similar screens, it will do this (it's how you are actually meant to get it to exit).

Ok that's what I thought.

Any news about untranslated thing, line breaks, and lining up problems?

Still a lot of translations missing in 52b2.
Note: I edited my previous post to see faster what's still missing.

When loading Cfg from Homebrew channel and booting Disc it says:
"ERROR: ISFS problem (-22)
Error storing playlog file.
Start from the Wii menu to fix.
Press A to continue
Press B to to back
Press Home to exit"

And of course this text is kept untranslated :-/

Yeah, we know about that one. When I was coding, I only had access to v50 like everyone else but the other devs. I had no clue how translation was implemented. That text will be made translatable by the release version. There were no translation related fixes in this version.

Hi Dr. Clipper,

I edited my link on the first page for the Dutch translation of CFG to include the translation files for the Configurator as well.
Maybe you can add this link to the list of available languages for the Configurator too.

Thanks !

Updated translations and template for cfg 52b3:
http://cfg-loader.googlecode.com/files/lang_cfg52b3.zip
Some changes were done automatically some messages still need to be translated.

Jabe: I think with v52b3 some of issues you brought up were solved.
Can you make a new post listing what else needs to be fixed translation related, so that you don't edit the same post all over, it will be easier to follow what still needs to be done.

File IT.lang update and available at the link in the first post

I noticed that your file contains different < > characters: « »
(unicode character with double >)
Which will not work correctly if it's in the msgid.
I guess that's something that your editor does?
I have fixed that and saved it here:
http://cfg-loader.googlecode.com/svn/trunk...nguages/IT.lang

Thanks a lot Oggzee,

Are you referring to these lines:
"Last-Translator: Cambo «emailaddress»\n"
"Language-Team: ITALIAN «emailaddress»\n"

Actually, the « and » are present in the IT.lang file contained in the lang_cfg52b3.zip pacvkage. The same symbols are not present in the other languages files...
I do not think that the problem is in my editor, since I can correctly see the other files...

In any case, I will update it again...

Thanks a lot,

cambo

EDIT

Found the problem: when I upload the file IT.lang to googledocs (using firefox on WinXP to be sure about compatibility, actually I am a MacOSX user) the "" in the email address are changed to « and », in other words in the original file I have "" and after the upload there are « and »

I will try to find a solution for this...

No, I was referring to:

msgid "« DOWNLOAD »"
msgstr "« SCARICA »"

That was in the version you uploaded.
I changed that to use < > and the email address too...

OK I saw the problem... I hope the file is OK now... I corrected the file and saved it in UTF-8 with TextPad5.....

EDIT

I cannot realize why a file saved in UTF-8 format with TextPad5 once uploaded to google docs is seen correctly on a PC and not on a Mac...

This is the link to the original file, which is the same as the one in GoogleCodes:

http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0ATeYkviu...Dlobg&hl=it

I hope that in the future the loader will be able to download the language files directly from cfg-loader.googlecode.com

Hi!

Sorry for the late answer but here is French language file updated:
Version 0.8.1 here => http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RP0NJ475
Version 0.8.2 here => http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WSQHVN6J

(I updated it on my above post)

Here is some recap about what's still missing or buggy.

About English (normal) version:
-"press button 1 for options" on Open Disc (see here) some dot . is missing in order to be the same as above lines.

Again: is it normal that you remove the [+] before [+] Select WBFS device: ?

About English and translated version:
-When filtering game by genre, category name doesn't appear on top (see here), there should be some grey text saying "Filter by Genre". I think it's because genre list is too long.

I've seen you fixed lining up problem, great job thanks but on Game Option page < Manage > should be without spacing as explained to me by gannon:
gannon said:
2) Meant to be that way because it is not a changeable option, but a menu button

About translations that doesn't appear:

I noticed that you changed my line breaks again inside FR.lang file and every translated stuff which has some /n doesn't appear.

Here is the list of (taking 2 lines) untranslated things:
-"Are you sure you want to remove this game?"
-"Are you sure you want to delete this partition?" (old screen here)
-"Make sure USB port 0 is used (the one close to the edge)"
-"Note: Loader restart is required for the update to take effect."(old screen here).
-"Mounting device, please wait..." (when choosing WBFS device)
-"Press - button to delete FS." (This one used to work but it doesn't anymore)
-"Press A to select sorting method" (That one used to work too)
-(there might be other stuffs using line break /n and not showing)

New text still appears untranslated even if I added my translation, once when trying to boot Disc I had again:
"ERROR: ISFS problem (-22"
Error storing playlog file.
Start from the Wii menu to fix"
Then I try to boot Disc again and it played fine.

Other untranslated things:
-When installing game "free of" and "GB" (old screen here).

Impossible to translate things (that need to be added to .lang file):
-Rated X+ for X players (on usb/disc game info page)
-GB (for game size, I would need to change it into "Go")

-On choosing partition screen: "Size(GB)", "Mount", "Used", "UNUSED" (old screen here).
-ASC/DES (see here) (It would be "CROI/DÉCR" in French for Croissant/Décroissant)
-"Game Default"/"Console Default"/"Force PAL" etc. on game option screen.
-Cover: DISC, FLAT, etc. even if it appears the time of downloading only.

Note: I didn't updated my screenshots because the problems are still the same.

I hope that next Beta version will solve those problems.

As I said most problem should come from line breaks /n but maybe it comes from something else.
For example I noticed that when opening lang.pot file in notepad it's fine, but when opening FR.lang file everything is compressed => see screen here.

@Jabe:

Thanks for the write up, we'll take a look at it.
Although I think we will solve the remaining issues in 53, since it's about time 52 release comes out.
