Jinns and Ghosts? I consider them the same thing. Latter being an English term while the other an Islamic term.
A proper English term would be genie. Ghosts and Jinns are two different concepts.
Well maybe, who cares lol. As long as they both exist, I'm fine with it.

What he means is that the spirit exists, and leaves. The body is just dead. There are no human spirits that linger for long. I myself have had a close friend die. The TV, Game system, and lights would all switch back on after I turned them off. This lasted for a couple days and it stopped. I can only conclude that my friend wanted to tell me he was okay, and that he was still on and he hasn't changed. What PK means is that human souls don't return, but demons and other twisted beings and humans do. That is what you speak to. This is who you let into your home. Not your grand dad, or whoever you want to talk to.
Nnnno, I meant that the person dies and ceases to exist in any form, save for memory.
Anyway, I don't want this turning too off-topic so I'll try and limit my responses for the moment.
So I did understand that correctly, thanks for clarifying.
But doesn't that belief go against Christian faith?
You know, the only reason I posted such was because I thought he indeed belonged to the Christian faith. My apologies.

ON Topic: Like others have said, it all depends on their dispotition and humorous behavior.

That's the point. Muslims don't believe in the existence of ghosts, as far as the usual definition is used.

I do :wtf:...Unless of course if you're saying that the event I experienced was that of a Jinn and not a Ghost, then the situation might avert

If people seeing things was proof something exists we would have already proved the existence of aliens, ghosts, poltergeists, demons, the Christian god, the Muslim god, the Jewish god, and many other gods. Seeing is not believing. Our senses are not infallible.

wow, this has gone mental.

For starters I'm 29 (not some kid as one of you thought), and my relative is my 85 year old grandmother (no skirt lifting from her.. cheers though..).

I think as the first answer said I'll curb my inquisitivity and use tact and respect.

Thanks to all who posted, make quite a good read.

Well well.

Don't bother with tact and respect, You just don't seem to have them.

I mean, You can't even let your grandmother die happily?.

But whatever man, Maybe such a dumb thought (OP) may be a good reason to say something rude to your grandmother.

I don't believe in ghosts, or genies, or jinns, or whatever kind of fucking shit people have pulled out from fairy tales or urban legends. There isn't a shred of concrete proof that any of those exist. That's like saying that demons exist because The Exorcist was based on a true story.

Seriously, just let your grandmother die. There's more important things to say to her than that.

The only thing wrong with it, in my opinion, is that it proves nothing.

Asking a man to give birth to a child doesn't prove that giving birth is impossible, it really only proves that the man you asked can't give birth.

It happens to be true that no man can give birth, but the fact that one man can't do it doesn't prove that fact, it just correlates it.

In a similar fashion, if your grandmother fails to haunt you after death, the only thing it proves is that your grandmother didn't both A) become a ghost and B) haunt you. Doesn't prove anything else at all.

Lots of conclusions could be drawn, like:
*Your grandma was scheduled for a reincarnation and couldn't attend your haunting.
*She told you she'd do it, then decided it was too much hassle
*Grandmothers don't make good ghosts because they like you too much

You see? Asking her to do it would have zero practical value.

Even if she _did_ successfully haunt you, all that it proves is that your grandmother can haunt people. Doesn't prove anything else.

If your relative is okay with it, sure why not

Might be a little insensitive though. I know despite how curious I'd be, I wouldn't ask
