Hi, do you have Dragon Quest VII save with story completed? Please just upload and share.

If not, just share a save that is late game, closer to competition or all fragments collected.

Thank you

I have one. Game not yet completed but final dungeon unlocked. Not sure how I can give it to you though.

Sure, that's fine with me.

You can export the save with JKSM (homebrew or CIA).
https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-jks-savemanager-homebrew-cia-savemanager.413143/

If homebrew version, just use any entrypoint to homebrew like ninjhax to use JKSM.
http://smealum.github.io/3ds/

Open JKSM with Dragon Quest VII cartridge inside, then Save Data Options > Export Save > New > type any names.

Open the 3DS back plate to get SD card out and read the SD card.

Go to SD > JKSV > Saves > DRAGON_QUEST_VII

Copy to desktop and compress with WinRAR or any ZIP software - RAR or ZIP are fine.

For compression - right click and click on "Add to archive" then click on OK.

Upload to here - click on "Upload a File" > Choose File > Dragon Quest VII save folder

Sure, it is easy and quick for me to export and import the saves - no hack or mod required.

It is quick and easy if you use CIA version and if you are familiar with CIA so you are good to go. :)

Check my PM for information.

For use CIA version of JKSM
1) Open the JKSM on home screen
2) Click on Refresh Games
3) If you use cartridge - Go to Cartridge, if you use CIA/digital - Go to SD/CIA
4) Go to Save Data Options > Export Save > New > type any names
5) Put SD card in PC
6) SD > JKSV > Saves > DRAGON_QUEST_VII
7) Drag DRAGON_QUEST_VII folder to desktop
8) Compress with WinRAR or any RAR/ZIP software (Right click on DRAGON_QUEST_VII folder, then Add to archive, then click on OK)
9) Click on "Upload a File" > Choose File > Dragon Quest VII save folder on this forum

I made tutorial more simplified so hopefully help.

Thanks

That "super robot taisen ux" save file is probably corrupted, unable to export. JKSV gives an error, ignoring the error just freezes the entire 3DS.

edit: just tried to manually copy and paste the file using FBI, that save file is definitely corrupted.

edit: hashes of my save file, redownloaded three times and got the same hash every time.

Ouch, corrupted saves are no fun at all and it stressed me out when I see my save corrupted, especially on long RPG games. :(

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though

    I appreciate the insight!
