They did make an official statement, see my link a few posts back. They said this game takes place after ocarina of time. I'm saying based on what I saw in game, that's bullshit.
The didn't even have to. The fact that one of the TLs after Ocarina is titled "the hero is defeated" and BotW makes specific reference to Link being defeated 100 yrs ago, was pretty obvious.

Ok, but in botw he comes back to life and wins the 2nd fight.... So he wasnt really defeated.....

Also, just last post you said we didnt know anything for sure, but now you say its obvious? Make up your mind....

He was placed in the Shrine of Resurrection.

Resurrection: the concept of a living being coming back to life after death.

Also, yes even though nothing is certain regarding how much planning there was. That much was obvious, yes.

it's AFTER TP there's a memory that confirms this. so 10100 years later. A LOT can happen in 10100 years koroks can evolve, rito can appear, towns can be built and giant mechs, electricity and rubber can exist :P

So are you suggesting the games where the hero fell to Ganon all took place during the 100 years Link was asleep? (also the game says he is in stasis, not dead) We know that's not what happened, obviously. Link comes back and beats Ganon, he does not fall. The games that would theoretically take place AFTER him falling, obviously can't because he wins the final battle. I'm sorry, that doesn't make a bit of sense and you know it.

I thought it took place after Zelda II before the game came out, but now that I've played it, I don't think so.
What with landmarks like the Bridge of Hylia from TP being intact, and one of the memories making reference to Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time, and Twilight Princess, I'm pretty sure it takes place in the child timeline...at least 10,000 years after TP.

Again, it has already been officially stated that the game takes place after Ocarina of Time. Check the Link in my post on the previous page.

No point in debating speculative things, you just seem hellbent on refuting anything anyone says.

The "100 years ago when Ganon destroyed Hyrule" is referring to the original Zelda game where you had to collect the 8 pieces of the Triforce to defeat Ganon and rescue Zelda. Zelda II takes place about 6 or 7 years later later and you prevent the return of Ganon. However, Zelda II has towns where Zelda I doesn't. So what happened to those towns since the events of Zelda II? Ganon was defeated in Zelda I and those towns were not even seen in the first game. So something must have happened between Zelda II and BoTW where Ganon returns and destroys the towns and Link is apparently killed but put in the Shrine of Resurrection for a century, setting up the events for BoTW.
that's not the case. its after twilight princess. because in link memory 1. zelda says "Whether skyward bound, adrift in time, or steeped in the glowing embers of twilight" there you go. its after twilight princess case closed.

Your not wrong. Your correct, I got all memories. course maybe date might be off. but definitely after tp.

...great? I just said it took place after OOT. ...and TP. Did you even read my post?

Yes, when they said it takes place after OoT, I took it as in right after it. I didn't really entertain the idea of it being after more than JUST OoT. I suppose it could be possible, but that's not how I interpreted it. Still not quite sure it would fit there, seeing as the Shieka built all the guardian tech and everything else 10,000 years before the events of BotW, but the tribe was nowhere to be seen in TP, nor was there any sign of advanced tech. Guess we'll find out for sure when they officially stick it on the chart.

Not really, I'm willing to debate the idea, so of course I'm going to voice any conflicting thoughts I may have, but your theory just plain doesn't make sense. The part I argued in my last post is not "speculative." The events of BotW are proof enough that your suggestion could not be the case. I'm not trying to scream "YOU'RE WRONG!" in your face, its just a fictional story from a video game with spotty info at best, but if we're going to analyze this, let's at least do it using some logic.

LOOK AT MY QUOTE. You know what. Look for the first memory in the game. do that. And you'll realize that it is after tp! I will quote again. "Whether skyward bound, adrift in time, or steeped in the glowing embers of twilight.

I was just saying that it definitely takes place after Ocarina, they didn't need to say so because it was obvious. I was also saying that it made sense because Link died 100 yrs before the events of BotW.

I never said anything one way or the other about any of the other things you mentioned there.
