Okay, I was on the Nintendo Channel today on my Wii, and saw the trailers of two games that I now really want.

These games are Suidoken: Tierkreis and The Legacy of Ys: Book I & II.

Now, I don't know which one I like better, but I know for certain that I can only get one of them. Can you help me decide which one to get?
I have never played any Suidoken games or Ys games, so it'll be the first game in either series I've ever played.

Well that's not a good statement as to why I should choose that over Ys....

Hmm I can't really tell which I'd like.
They both seem to be RPG games ... Right ?

Not a type of game I really like to play, but looking at some Youtube videos it seems that Suidoken: Tierkeis contains a LOT of cartoon type cut scenes, which MIGHt be a cover for actual bad gameplay while Ys: Book I & II doesn't, meaning more gameplay

Gameplay wise: Suidoken seems 'turn based' attacks, YS seems 'realtime' AKA Zelda type fighting
Also it seems as Suidoken you have a 'team' to worry about, while 'YS' all you have is You
Graphically: Suidoken seems more 'polishes', YS seems 'blocky'

I guess it depends on the type of gameplay you like
- I like Zelda games so it's likely I would give 'YS:Bk I/II' a try, If however you like 'Golden Sun' games - go for Suidoken

Hope this helps

Suikoden is a 2009 game based off the suikoden series of games on PS1/2....Book of Y's 1&2 is a remake of some old sega games...from what I recall. If you aren't into old timey ports of games, I'd say go for suikoden.

So, let me get this straight.

Suidoken = Great Graphics, Turn-Based battles... And how's the story? Deep and involving?
Legacy of Ys = Sort of great graphics, real-time battles... And is the story cool?

And I can only get one because right now i'm only sure of one or two games i'd be willing to delete off of my SD and I don't know how big either of these games are.

Ok, do you have 256MB on your SD card(Suikoden=256MB[224 trimmed], Ys=128MB)?

I would say go for Suikoden since Ys can become quite repetitious feeling.

Can't really tell you about story lines as I've not played any of them (actually I'm downloading copies as we speak) but does storyline really matter ? -
To me gameplay is what matters

It could be a great story, but actually gameplay could be slow & frustrating, while you could have a good gameplay but the story could be bog-standard or you could even get a mixture of both

Read Plot @ Wikipedia:
Suikoden Tierkreis
Ys: Book I
YS: Book II

I like repetition. XD
Probably why I don't gripe at the fact that Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks have central dungeons you have to explore every twenty minutes. :\

..
Ok then..Actually if you don't mind lots of repetition you could try From the Abyss(32MB), it's got randomly generated dungeons and generally plays like Soma Bringer.

Most of the time on Suikoden your just hitting the auto-battle which is boring.
The voice acting is bad, they are all talking really fast.
Even though you can get some good hours out of this, it can be boring.

Suikoden is a really long game! Lots of characters to recruit and good story.
Might get a bit boring after a while though. But the is VA is shit.

YS on the other hand is an enhanced remake of the first two games from the Legacy of YS series.
Also has a good story. There are two control schemes, one which uses the stylus and the other which uses the buttons. Its a great remake of two games.

Try both and choose which you like.

Yeah, i'll try, if I could find Suikoden. I might just be forced to go with Ys.

BTW, is it pronounced "eez" or "wise"?

I have played the Y's DS Games and I will tell you, compared to Suidoken: Tierkreis, it's crap.
Y's is not a true RPG. The Y's books I & II are very short. I would pick up Suidoken: Tierkreis personaly because it is a longer game and a better quality game than Y's Books I & II.
