Hello everyone, I would like to know if there will be a solution to solve this:
After a CTRtransfer to change my console from 11.15.0-47 to 11.5.0-38, once the HOME menu is loaded, when I move software, this error appears:

An exception occured
Processor: ARM11 (core 1)
Exception type: data abort
Fault status: Translation - Section
Current process: boss (0004013000003402)

Misc infos:
I'm on New 2DS XL.
I have an SD Card 16Go FAT32.

You might have soft bricked your console. Try entering safe mode by holding L R A and Up on your dpad to try to reupdate back to 11.15. any specific reason why you decided to downgrade?

Have you tried using a different sd card? During the 3ds.hacks.guide setup process, you copy luma3ds to the nand so you can use it with a different sd card or without one at all.

Why did you do this, exactly?

If you Google you will see that this is a surprisingly common error, but unfortunately no one knows exactly what causes it or exactly how to fix it. You can start by removing your SD card and see if that makes the error go away.

Possible fixes include the usual SD card troubleshooting - copy everything off the SD card, format the card, test the card, and copy everything back again. Some people have also had success with updating the console in recovery mode – but again, you will have to tell us something about why you were doing a CTR transfer in the first place.

Its cause they got a N2ds. it cannot go under a certain firmware. which is why they get this error. Search showed its 11.5 as the lowest. https://gbatemp.net/threads/new-2ds...rading-from-11-15-to-11-4.615262/post-9879219

I did a CTRtransfer because I couldn't start the system settings application anymore.
And did you do something that you think broke the System Settings application?

Redgardless, the advice in my earlier post still applies. Have you tried updating the console in recovery mode? Recovery mode is accessed by holding A+R+L+Up while turning it on.

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
