I know, but publishers may have used the hardware sales (initially) as an indication of a platform doing well and the amount of potential customers to justify making software for a platform.

I'm not talking long term here (especially if piracy would be a big factor in these hardware sales), but if there were enough good games then non-pirates could get interested in the platform and subsequently keep up the momentum.

Remember, this is a hypothetical scenario for what could have happened and is set a few years ago.

Nice, I got one too. I actually rushed to this thread to notify people that Amazon has them for regular retail price Since 3.0.1 was just released, this stock is guaranteed to have a lower fw.
