How to take pictures on the 3DS without the shutter sound

dsi-camera works on 3DS too (it's on Universal-Updater) and I didn't get around to implementing shutter sounds

It didn't work for me. When launching the app from the HOME Menu, it just shows "An error has occurred. Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Operations Manual for details." And when launching from TWiLight Menu++, the app works. But when taking a picture, It gets stuck at "Saving PNG..." and the screen freezes and doesn't save the PNG and it doesn't do anything else. Edit: It's working now. I waited a few seconds and it saved the PNG. I used NDS Forwarder and it successfully booted from HOME Menu.

It takes about 30 seconds to save, I should look into better PNG libraries or switch to JPEG... Not working from the HOME Menu is actually normal iirc, I forget why exactly so I forgot about that

Anemone3DS also uses the Camera when scanning a QR Code.

You can also install dsi-camera on Universal Updater.

You can also use Anemone3DS to take pictures with the Camera in the Scan QR Code option. Press R to activate the Camera.

That n3ds camera click is REALLY lound when the volume is turned up to max. It sounds like a door clicking

*lol* sorry I have not used this feature in a long time. There will be a sound no matter what . The sound is on the internal board not the outer one, and it is LOUD and heck, maybe that is why I stopped using it.
I only use it for in game pictures only
That noise is the click of death. I die a little every time I hear that sound ▄█▀█●
