Ok another atempt
With the VM image you had before downloading this one, do this:
Boot the vm normally and press ALT+F1
user: root password: notforall
Type this
nano /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules
and go to the second line, and in the very end of it change wlan1 to wlan0
press ctrl+x and press Y to save the changes
after type poweroff
(all this with the wlan card plugged in)
Re launch the VM and tell what happens please :)

OK, so now the 3DS connects with full signal and the VM outputs this

Also there's a green light flashing on the 3DS after some time, so I guess it works now?

EDIT: Yeah definitely works. Just checked my notifications and the 3DS has fetched 15 people on my Pokemon Y. Thanks a lot :lol::lol:

No green light for me ... I think I'm doing something wrong.

I was using the image from the start post and applied the fix.

Already tried, but two things are strange.

1. I know we should never connect to the Hotspot, but shouldn't it still be visible in the WiFi-settings if I use the access-point-search? My 3DS can't see it, but my smartphone can.
2. On the left top of the screen there is a StreetPass-logo, but when I close my device I don't actually get any passes.

PS: Another question, does this image use Base16 or Base256 for nzone?

Not sure about 1, I dont have my 3DS with me atm
About 2, you should never see the icon GREEN it should be BLUE, the green mode is for local (3DS to 3DS) streetpass
this image has BASE16,GBATEMP,18,49,77,78,94

I accidentally bought the Belkin 150n about a week ago. On the Streetpass google doc the link for the recommended Windows7 usb adapter was linking to the Belkin instead for a little bit. I didn't catch it until I had so many issues with the Belkin once it arrived.

To the point, is there an ideas on a way I can get the Belkin to work for Homepass with my Win7 system? I know it was originally suggested for Raspberry Pi in the doc. Would VM work or dualboot into a linux distro?
Thank you for any help.

Since SpillPass is essentially a stripped down flavour of Linux on the RaspPi, there's no reason the adaptor shouldn't work in a full Linux distro (VM or dual boot).

I've thrown all my existing hardware at these solutions and nothing was supported. Does anyone have any suggestions for either a USB wifi dongle or a router that will definitely work and doesn't cost too much?

So I have a router that works for mac spoofing, and back in the pre-9.x days, (attwifi ssid) it worked amazingly for getting all the streetpasses I could care to get. Then didn't need/want to use it for awhile, so i turned it off. Now I'm trying to get it to work again, but my 3ds doesn't see a Nzone, nor does it get any streetpasses.
Currently using the NZ@McD1 ssid as mentioned in this guide under, as one would expect, the router category. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong here?
TL;DR Worked on router with attwifi, doesn't work now with NZ@McD1.

I have posted some amazon links thoughout this topic (check the last 5-6 pages).

The cheap one I own worked almost out of the box for me, just had to change an IP, thats all.
Works perfect with MACycle, SSID: attwifi

If you have problems:
try netsh wlan show drivers , if it says for your Wifi something like "hosted network: no", you can't use that Dongle at all.

So...is there anything doable on the latest android? I've searched and searched but keep getting directed back to pages and stuff all over from 1-2 yrs, and seem to see 4.3 - supported. Unless I'm just really unlucky...
