Okay so my modem-router is the 192.168.20.x range, I've set my DD-WRT's IP to be 192.168.20.99, so it should look like:

WAN ip: 192.168.20.100
Gateway 255.255.255.0
DNS: 192.168.20.1

Does that sound right to you? Should i put anything in subnet mask?
sorry, subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0, gateway should be 192.168.20.1

Should also scroll down and set the "local dns" to either 8.8.8.8 or 192.168.20.1, and a bit further down disable the dhcp server.

It seems like any time i change these settings I can't get back into the router's interface until i do a hard factory reset. No idea what's going on with that.

Did you make sure the Homepass router's IP was outside the range of IPs set aside for the main router? Even if they're not being used, the main router still seemed to control those ports and block out the secondary router if it was inside the range. That was my problem during initial setup anyway.

Does this still work with Nintendo Zone discontinued? Not getting any streetpasses but I can't rule out doing something wrong (used the OS X method).

I'm, not entirely sure i follow. Are you saying i need to make sure it's outside the range it normally assigns IP addresses to? It should be, as I've assigned most devices on my network a static local IP for convenience's sake. I can normally access it when it is assigned as 192.168.20.99, it's only when i change the WAN settings that I lose access.

Scroll down a bit more and set everything under "Router IP" to the same as the wan info.

Okay, trying this now, should local IP address be the same as WAN IP Address? Or should i leave it as 192.168.20.100 for WAN and 192.168.20.99 for Router IP?

Here's what I am thinking of entering

Code:
 WAN Connection Type

Connection Type: Static IP
WAN IP Address: 192.169.20.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.20.1
Static DNS1: 8.8.8.8

Router IP

Local IP Address: 192.168.20.99 (no change)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 (no change)
Gateway: 192.168.20.1
Local DNS: 8.8.8.8

How does that look to you?

EDIT: Found one that finally worked! Try XZone on GitHub!
Hey specialists!

I set up everything on my Mac OS X 10.11.4 for Homepass. It works like a charm if I set it up to one MAC-Adress.
Now I wanted to cycle through Mac adresses with scripts for that (tried OSX Mac Cycler and Relaymyhome). It shows that it works, but my 3DS can't connect to it when it reconnects to another MAC.
I guess it has something to do with the loading/unloading of the Internet/Network-Sharing option. If I do it manually, it works. Automatically with the script, not.
Can anyone do the cycling on a Mac without the problem and perhaps help me?

Thanks!

Well that doesn't seem to have done anything, still getting locked out of the router.

Hey, guys. I've been trying to get Homepass working off my computer for a day now, but I think I'm missing something...

I've tried a few different methods, and while it SEEMS like I can get some of them to work (the Win7 method on the first post of this thread, the one on the GlacierGaming site, etc.), I've gotten zero Streetpasses, even when leaving them running for quite a while. That, and I'm uncertain about how to specifically change MAC Addresses. But if I can't get it to work in the first place, that hasn't been much of an issue.

I have a USB WiFi Adapter (Panda 300mbps), an ethernet connection, and a PC with Windows 7. All I'm trying to do is get a Homepass relay working for Bravely Default/Second, really.
If anyone could give me some advice, I'd appreciate it. I've never tried these things before, so I know I'm probably just goofing something up.

Strange, maybe an issue with the firmware your running that looks correct. You can try leaving the bottom gateway selection blank.

So I'm not sure if someone here can help me, but I have a strange issue *sort* of related to this. I have my primary router/modem combo, and I have my homepass router cascaded from there (LAN to LAN). Modem/router is 192.168.1.1, homepass is 192.168.1.20

Everything works fine for the most part, however, lately I've been using my PS Vita to play my PS4 via remote play. This works great for a while, but after a few days it seem to "hiccup" every few seconds rendering it unplayable. I've narrowed it down to the homepass router, as if I unplug it things seem to go smoothly. Any settings I can play with to try and narrow down this issue? The truly strange thing is if I change the SSID of my primary router/modem, it goes back to working perfectly again. So something is causing interference or some strange issues.

EDIT: here's video, the circle for borderlands makes it very apparent :

EDIT2: Sigh, maybe it's not the homepass router. Just unplugged it entirely and still getting the issue. So I suppose this is the wrong forum for help. If anyone has an idea, please PM me though!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to make note of what I said earlier about BASE1, BASE16, BASE256, and GBATEMP commands. The post regarding these is located here:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-have-a-homemade-streetpass-relay.352645/page-10#post-4739510

I'll see if I can help anyone else in a little bit.
Based on the methods in that post, I would like to use the DD-WRT method (and I already have it set up with a single MAC address) but the website the remote scripts are on seems to be down. (That being nintendozone.dynu.com.) Is there an alternate url?

Edit: I found that there's apparently a replacement at .net, but when I enter that command into my router it kicks back "/bin/sh: eval: line 1: /tmp/nzone.sh: not found".

I had to actually go into administration, commands and enter it there for it to take. Telnet for some reason didn't work.

I get that error when I enter it through Administration > Commands.

Edit: Figured it out, I think. It didn't like taking multiple commands at once, so I broke them up and ran them one at a time.

Alright, so I redownloaded the 'homepass.zip' debian image from the frontpage video, which is at http://nintendozone.dynu.net/homepass.zip (changed the .com to .net).

<snip>
So, I changed the 'wlan0' in the interface line of '/etc/wlan0_hostap.conf' to 'wlan1'. I saved this changed file as '/etc/wlan1_hostap.conf'. I also have a '/etc/wlan0_hostap.conf' file with 'wlan1' in its interface line.

Also changed both line in '/etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules' from 'wlan1' to 'wlan0', as in the front page video.
<snip>

You'll probably only want to do one of those steps; the first one (editing/renaming the hostapd.conf file) tells the system that your wireless interface is wlan1, while the second (editing the rules.d config) makes the system assign your wireless interface as wlan0 instead. They're two different approaches to achieve the same thing -- but when you do them both you end up in the same situation as if you'd done neither!

I'm wanting to use the Windows method on my htpc server I keep in my spare room. But the N13 Asus stick isn't sold any more, there's the N14 at £20 But that seems so overkill for something that's literally in the next room. My usual UK retailer is SCAN so can anyone recommend any of these? https://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/all/networking/wireless-adaptors-usb

EDIT: Amazon still sells the N13: http://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-USB-N13-Wireless-Adapter-Software/dp/B0033C7ZAK

EDIT2: If I don't want to use VMWare can I still restrict the WiFi to only accept certain MACs?
