I'm American, and want to get a South Korean 3DS for testing/development purposes. Does anyone know of an importer that can get one?

The Korean version of Ocarina of Time would also be useful, for obvious reasons. (I'm capable of porting oot3dhax to it myself.)

I've seen the prices for it after being imported to be quite high compared to JPN/EUR consoles strangely..

Why buy the £270 o3DS with £30 shipping when you can buy the n3DS for the same price and lower shipping?

I've read that purchases of 3DS/N3DS (or this type of gaming technology) in Korean is somewhat controlled,
as it needs Identification card or something of that sorts,
so coupled with the scarcity of Korean units out of korea, those reasons probably makes it much more expensive..

(Im having issues finding the original user or post that said so)

Korean New 3DS launch Firmware was 9.6.0-X so you can"t use Kernel exploits from older firmwares as there isn"t that Firmware for Korean New 3DS, becuase that it isn"t possible as of now test actually public Kernel Exploits in a Korean New 3DS because there isn"t one that works with the lowest Firmware for now.

You want it for testing, emunand is great for that stuff. Just make a new emunand partition, and region swap it to korean (you will probably need a9lh as there are no public KOR secureinfo_a's laying around).

@ih8ih8sn0w It shoud work in EmuNand with CFW without Arm9LoaderHax, in a non Arm9LoaderHax System Nand I think it isn"t possible and if there isn"t a legit SecureInfo_A from that region if you restore a backup from that Nand in System Nand without Arm9LoaderHax the console will brick.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
