hey guys, ive ordered a supercard lite with a SD micro 1gb flash mem card. how many nds games can you put on this thing? i see that some of the games are 256Mbit, does that mean you can only put 4 of these games on one memory card? i guess my question is, is 256 Mbits = 256 megabytes? i cant see how because most of these NDS games are around 50 megabytes...im just not too familiar with how the sizing works here!

256 Mbits is 256 megabits which is 64 megabytes. I don't know why all roms seem to be done in megabits is confusing, a megabyte is 4x more than a megabit. Depending on the size of the game I've got about 20 games to fit on the supercard. You can get more or less depending on the size of the rom.

16 megabytes = 128 megabits
32 megabytes = 256 megabits
64 megabytes = 512 megabits
128 megabytes = 1024 (1 Gb) megabits
256 megabytes = 2048 (2 Gb) megabits
512 megabytes = 4096 (4 Gb) megabits
1024 (1 GB) megabytes = 8192 (8 Gb) megabits
2048 (2 GB) megabytes = 16384 (16 Gb) megabits
4096 (4 GB) megabytes = 32768 (32 Gb) megabits
8192 (8 GB) megabytes = 65536 (64 Gb) megabits

Check out my flashcart guide as I have a section that will tell you how many you can fit on each type of memory including what type of files!

8x. There are 8bits in a byte.

I got 22 games on my card before I wiped it out a few days ago to try out Pokemon. I love the DS but I dont have time for the games unfortunately.

All these games here are 976MB

Advance Wars Dual Strike
Animal Crossing
Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow
Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training
Jump Superstars
Kirby Canvas Curse
Lost in Blue
Mario and Luigi Partners in Time
Mario Hoops 3 on 3
Mario Kart DS
Meteos
Metroid Prime Hunters
New Super Mario Bros.
Nintendogs Dalmation and Friends
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney
Sonic Rush
Star Fox Command
Super Mario 64 DS
Tetris DS
Trauma Center Under the Knife

So basically all the top games on a 1GB card which is basically all you need.

1GB of flash memory is not alot so I would recommend getting an M3 Lite or G6 Lite. 1GB of flash memory is just 256MB.

Today's lesson: notation and conversion

1GB of flash memory is indeed 1GB. 1Gb is not 1GB. The G6 lite is 4Gb (512MB). Anyone who complains about the bit-byte conversion and naming convention is either lazy or unable to understand.

I'm surprised they've still managed to get away with using megabits as sega was told year ago to stop putting meg cartridge on the mastersystem games. Everyone was thinking it was megabytes and not megabits.
