I never grind in any game. It's fun to be underleveled and make use of your brain. I also didn't have to grind for FFIV which is how they say "hard" game.

Grinding isn't necessarily just gaining EXP, it could be trying to get a rare item or trying to earn enough money to buy a plot or powerful item.

But yes, I'll grind.

At FFIV, potions are cheap. So I buy lots of them and go to the dungeon I'm supposed to go to.

Same here. On other games, I just running a circle nearest inn and go there when I need to heal my characters. I also have bad habit to power leveling in every game.

I always thought the only way to progress is to grind. Isn't that supposed to be a big part of RPGs?

I thought makers encourage you to think like in FFX where you make strategy to beat Penance and Nemesis.

If the game is a good game, I'll grind the normal way. If the game sux (like Etrian Odyssey, sadly) I'll turn on exp. multipliers. Too bad even Exp. Multipliers couldn't save Etrian Odyssey for me

Meh, if a game requires grinding then i just turn the cheats on.
I don't understand the point of grinding if you can use cheats.

I mean it isn't like Grinding is a fun part of the game or a MultiPlayer game where you want to prove your skills.
Grinding in an Offline RPG game sucks so yeah...i rather use a cheat code.

EXP

Go to the place where all the strong battles are and level up there. Just make sure you bring tons of HP and MP healing items and anything for reviving fallen characters.

Money

Find a money laden monster usually a regenerating mimic, high level creature, or money themed monsters such as thieves and rich monsters, then destroy them until you have the money.

Items

See your bestiary for the target monster and kill them until you have the item.

The legal way is best.

I usually do it legit, unless there is some kind of non-glitch shortcut I can use. Personally I prefer to go underleveled in most situations, just because the feeling of accomplishment after a hard battle is greater when I am actually challenged. Power is great and all, but not if it breaks the game.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
