Well another day, another buy it seems for me :'(
Fallout New Vegas Ultimate this time. I already completed the game 3 times, pirated. But now I really felt bad and decided to support Bethesda! 5 EUR is just a joke for that edition, really. What a deal....
Thanksssssssss so much for this game, Bethesda, keep your future games on PC!

I bought the game a while back, tried it out as i'd heard so many good things about it, but just couldn't get into it.

If the graphics bother you (tbh, they bothered me a hell of a lot, I just couldn't get into it thanks to those horrid textures), get some graphic mods. Really made me enjoy it more, and your PC shouldn't have much problems with it. Definitely try it

No it wasn't the graphics, it was the game...you go through that longish tutorial with the old geyser, and then i just felt totally lost and thought sod it, i'll try it another time, and didn't go back to the game.

That's...... Fallout for you :P Same with TES really. Hate it or love it. It's really a game what you make of it. You decide where to go, when to go, what to do. Ultimate freedom, NO ONE is going to tell you 'you should go there first' or 'that area is off limits' or 'the monsters are really strong there, don't go'. You just go, you pick a direction, you walk it, and if you see anything interesting, you just do it. See a cave? Get into it.
See a human walking around a mile away from you? Shoot him and see what happens, or run to him and have a talk. Or just run the other side.
It's all up to you!

I bought Cave Story+ and the GTA pack because it was cheap. Managed to try 20 minutes of San Andreas and I just can't get used to the mouse and keyboard controls. Starting to wonder if I should've just bought the original Xbox versions instead.

Is it just me or has this Steam sale been somewhat 'meh'?
I think it's because they some sales feels like deja vu all over again. I can't tell how many times I've seen Half Life 2 on sale over and over again.

Right before the flash sales changed, I noticed that The Binding of Issac's DLC was also on special, got it for $0.75.

^yeah I waited and then saw and grabbed it, always wait for flash sales
unless its obvious its not going any cheaper (75% off already) but if its 50% then hold out

boarderlands 2 and season pass on sale for $10 each again, I might wait for the goty edition though http://www.vg247.com/2013/07/04/borderlands-2-goty-edition-spotted-on-steam-database/
will include everything except for player skins

gta complete collection im probably gonna pass on, for the older gta's I dont think the software controller apps will work with steam

I've spent $50 on this sale. My new mantra is to only buy games $10 or less. (Dishonored at 10.17 was an exception.) Anything more than $10 can wait for the next sale.

And Joe88? I'll give you a "Prison Architect" for free. PM me with your e-mail. If you get dupes for "Kerbal Space Program" or "Tomb Raider", send 'em my way.

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    But it's a dead end
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, i only have like 1 or 2 mb sec

Did you feed the hamster in your internet router? It prob died and is running slow now.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

Its actua!ly just a old joke, meaning its slow. Was just kidding around with you.

I bet @AncientBoi has some hamsters hidden somewhere tho....

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

also @BigOnYa im making some progress on my gdevelop project, implemented various mechanics

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

@BigOnYa, although the bullets are a bit buggy

Not to mention this would be a massive pain to pirate
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

im taking a break for today anyway

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
