Hacking Hi can you update the 3ds with cfw through system settings.

Hi so i followed the 3ds.guide everything whent ok.just wonderd what happens if you update the 3ds through the system settings will i loose my cfw and stuff.thanks

You can update fine to 11.4, but you can't use NTR streaming, unless you downgrade back to 11.3

Yeah, it is. I was keeping mine and my newphews 3DS's on lower firmwares, but I updated them all to 11.4 and have no issues. Make sure you use luma updater to luma to 7.0.2, I think is the latest version.

You can update manually https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases <---extract the archive, copy over and replace arm9loaderhax.bin on your SD card. That's it.

Or download Luma Updater manually, or through TitleDB via FBI, https://github.com/Hamcha/lumaupdate/releases, and use that to update Luma3DS.

If you have Luma on your CTRNAND for backup, don't forget to copy a version to there as well.

Ok new to this lol .so ctrnand is the internal memory right lol.i already copied luma v6.6 there or somthing so i could boot the 3ds without having to have the sd card in.so how do i install the latest luma to ctrnand again.thanks

You download the latest luma, copy the arm9loaderhax.bin in FBI to CTR NAND, then youre done.

Just make sure you are running the latest of your CFW of choice first. 11.4 was a nasty update that broke some stuff and every CFW had to update to fix that. Once you have your CFW up to date, then update to 11.4
Do note, it's almost always safe to update as the firm0/1 protection should always protect your hacks. But Nintendo has been adding NATIVE_FIRM requirements to their OFW updates. These new requirements have been causing all kinds of issues with CFWs, even Luma3DS has been effected by them. This is why I suggest always making sure you research first and why I am going to give you some praise for actually asking beforehand. Better safe than sorry!

Wrong, BootNTR 3.2 and NTR CFW 3.5 is released. It supports streaming on 11.4 on N3DS.
