HELP - Son's 3DS XL and R4 Gold Card

Hi there,
I had sorted an r4 Gold card with DS games for my 2 x sons quite a few years ago. I had also hacked the firmware for 3DS games (Lumo, FBI etc). Yesterday my sons turned on their 3DS XL for the 1st time in quite a few years and updated the FW to 11.5 and 11.6. Now the R4 Gold card (wiuth Spongebob pic and firmware) will not load DS games. Just sits on a black screen. The 3DS games (.CIA's) work fine.

I haver read countless guides online and nothing is working to fix their R4 Gold CARDS.

Can someone please point me in the right direction to install the right kernal and files so I can get them back up and running.

My 3DS XL on FW 11.12 and R4 Gold card works fine.

Try updating Luma as well. You can use Universal-Updater to do so.
If you already have Luma though, then I'd recommend using TWiLight Menu++ to run games from the console's SD card instead.
The only reason to use a flashcard on DSi or 3DS these days, is to run legacy homebrew and a few DS games incompatible with nds-bootstrap (which is used by TWLMenu++ to run retail/commercial DS games).
