Halo TV series gets first trailer, show set to air this March

Today's AFC game touted a special reveal at the halftime: a trailer for the Halo TV series. Master Chief and Cortana were shown, with Pablo Schreiber cast as the former. The teaser also gave the air date for the series, which will be streaming exclusively on Paramount+, available on March 24.

I don't get it, why they always make films / series of military games. although halo has a little bit more to offer than your regulary military shooter. I think cortana looks great.

Everything about this looks like crap. Looks really cheap with terrible acting, and Master Chief is still one of the dumbest character names. I know it's a ranking, but it still sounds dumb.

Looks very promising and I'm not even a Halo fan. Heck, I used to think the green man was called Halo to only later find out he's Master Chief.

It's a bit like someone thinking Link is called "Zelda." 😅
Because Halo is a person's name?
I always thought it referred to the circular space station's geometrical form.

maybe one day I'll play the game series and finally understand it :P
I hope the series will cover the story of Halo be understandable for the ones who never played the game.

Trailer looks interesting, could turn out to be a good series.

The only thing I found off were the dudes sporting AK-47s. Seriously AKs!? In the future! Should have done what every other good sci-fi does, mix and match and modify old and existing weapons into cool futuristic weapons, ala StarWars or Aliens.

Master Chief sounds cool to me, both as a Navy Rank and as a character's name in a Sci-fi FPS...unless you want him to be Master Chief Petty Officer or Master Chief Diver

I've read Halo 3, Halo Reach, and the newest one are the best to play. Unfortunately, I don't have an Xbox around right now to play Halo so I'll make do with this show. :)

Not holding my breath for this one.. The casting look out of place, the CGI look okay i guess, some action scenes (to reassure fans), but the Halo experience is much more than just those things. But we'll see..

It's Paramount+ so I'm giving it a chance.

For example, 1883 (prequel to Yellowstone) took a few episodes to "get" good, but it finally did and I'm enjoying it

Not too sure about this low budget non canon fan film, boss. I haven't played all the games, but even I can tell this isn't the same thing. And the plot seems to be pretty predictable for "military" movies we have these days. *Sigh*

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
