You don't need a NNID to buy games on eshop, at least I didn't. Need one for free games though
Which means steelhax wouldn't work... but you could just use another entry point like OoT so that could work. But I just dont see the benefit of going NNID-less

Yeah it is. Not sure what Olmectron means there

Oh really? News to me. Whats the benefits of doing it without a NNID?
Nothing, that you can do as I said and not have to worry about linking NNIDs nor anything like that. You skip a bit of time by not having to deal with NNID creation.

There aren't "benefits" I never said so.

It's just easier for people who own OoT or StickerStar or other physical game with a 11.2 compatible payload, so they don't have to worry about the NNID thing.

Still, I don't know why most people think you need a NNID for buying. It's completely false. Only demos and free apps asks for it.

On the transfer guide it has information about using steelhax as entry point. I don't need to worry about this browserhax entry point right?
I believe so, but I'd like someone to confirm that a system transfer from a 11.2 system to a 11.0 system doesn't force you to update & doesn't mess with the browser

Exactly you would use steelhax. That is for people on 11.0 who dont have access to a hacked 3ds to use steelhax

Use it in what way? (I've never had to personally use it, yet), but on the source system before transferring?

This bypasses the system asking you to update when accessing the eShop or anything that needs to be on latest firmware.
https://github.com/yellows8/ctr-httpwn/releases

Would need to be used on 11.0 console. Not on the 11.2 console because it isn't needed since 11.2 is the latest version.

are you sure about that?

http://3ds.guide/dsiware-downgrade

on this guide it says before the system transfer

Section IV - ctr-httpwn
This section is only required if the target 3DS is under 11.2.0.

Requires a none browser entry point.

Well, if you got steelhax, it should load on 11.2, so you could go ahead and update the stock console to 11.2, you would steel be able to use steelhax, and no need to ctr httpwn.

But if you didn't have a none browser entry point ready to go, why wouldn't you just update and use steelhax? that's what I did just last week when my friends 3ds we wanted to downgrade was on 11.0 so we updated to 11.2 and used steelhax

can a system update kill this method? say if we are on 11.3 by the time I get the new 3ds.
