Would you like the idea?

Smartphones (YEAH. FUCKING PHONES) have GTA 3 and Vice City. They aren't even made for games!

The 3DS is more powerful than the PS2 from what I read, so I think it would be perfect.

It's San Andreas' 10th Anniversary next year, so it would probably join the other two on Smartphones, but I think it would be really cool on the 3DS.

Hell, I wouldn't care if it wasn't in 3D! I just want it on ma console! I want a port on an actual fucking console, not a PHONE!

The touch screen could be used as a map, L and R could be used to shoot, the D-Pad could be used to go through your weapon options and radio stations, and of course, the circle pad would be used to move CJ.

OR IS THAT TOO MATURE FOR YOU NINTENDO!?

Do you know what you are talking about?
Smartphones can run the game, because some phones, like the Samsung ones, have 2 ghz and stuff like that.
Then you also need to run the OS in the background etc.
So you can't go running around and say " i want a GTASA port nao!!!".
And san andreas is a whole different story then vice city and GTA 3.
Also, where did you read that it's stronger than PS2?
I think you mean it's stronger than a PSP.
So next time, do some THINKING before posting!

I think R* sold like 80,000 copies of GTA Chinatown Wars (the last handheld gta game on a nintendo platform) -- so not likely to happen on any Nintendo system anytime soon. Easy piracy no doubt was a factor, but can't alone explain how its sales were that low.

He didn't say anything about emulation. He means a port, like Zelda OOT. The 3ds could handle it.

The fastest mobile CPU(at least that I know)
is the Exynos 5420, which still do not have a core running at 2.0GHz.
Still it's nonsense to take in consideration only the CPU.
GPU and RAM are equally important.

Then you also need to run the OS in the background etc.

Why the hell would you need to run the OS in background?

We had some ports/remakes from PS2 to 3DS, like Tales of Abyss and Metal Gear Solid 3.
Also, 3DS have much more RAM memory than PS2(128MB FCRAM x 32MB RDRAM + 4MB eDRAM).
Given 3DS tech specs, I say most of PS2 games could be ported to it.

I knew this was going to rear its ugly head sooner or later. In all honesty, you have a WAY better chance at GTA V being ported to the PS Vita than the 3DS; Nintendo is very stern when it comes to putting children and "respectable" parents before all else.

Dude, he is talking about GTA San Andreas.
GTA V on Vita would already be difficult,
porting it for 3DS would be impossible(or close too).

Whoops. Forgot that. Most of the idiots at my school are calling GTA V "San Andreas". Either way, DinohScene is on the right track; GTA San Andreas is a very large game, while a high poly-count to boot, so it'll take a lot to get a port to run on the 3DS. Getting the game to run at a decent speed is another issue.

Well… every Nintendo Handheld except Gameboy had a GTA.

And with GTA V out the door…

LOL yeah it's kinda annoying sometimes that there seems to be a trend going on that everything on 3DS needs to be chibi.

But back to the question at hand, I think GTA SA could run on the 3DS, however I don't think it would be too simple to just port it over given the complexity of the game. They would pretty need to start from scratch and make many adjustments to make it work on the 3DS.
