(NASDAQ: TTWO), is proud to announce the release date for Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, the latest entry into the genre-defining Grand Theft Auto series. Developed by Rockstar Leeds, in conjunction with series creators Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be available for the Nintendo DS™ on March 17 and 20, 2009 in North America and Europe, respectively.

“Rockstar Leeds have once again created a game that far exceeds our standard for deep and innovative entertainment,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We are incredibly excited to share this enormous and uncompromising Grand Theft Auto experience with DS fans.”

Very cool. Been reading up on everything regarding this game, and I'm confident people are going to be hella impressed with it. The naysayers will be feasting on crow. I've also had an opportunity to see screenshots other than the ones from Nintendo Power, and the game does, indeed, look great. Which by the way, just finished reading the interview with Gordon Hall from my latest issue of NP, and he goes on and on about how this is by far the best game Leeds has worked on. Hall comes off as genuinely excited about the game.

I'm really hyped for this one, didn't expect that much in the beginning, but after seeing some pics I just changed completely over this game.

I was reading my EGM magazine, and it said the date was Winter 2009.

My jaw dropped.
