He did kill Trayvon Martin though, he admits it, that is a fact. He also stalked him.

Actually my post isn't directed towards him, I'm just saying this in general.

I am in no position to judge or condemn him despite the information that has been made public, so I'll let the trials do the work

If I were to have an opinion though, I'd say he's pretty much guilty based on the current circumstances

Shouldn't you be glad he's facing a trial? You know, innocent until proven guilty?

I prefer guilty until proven innocent.

I'm pretty sure you'd think otherwise if you were facing trial.

Perhaps, but I've never faced trial and don't intend on doing so. I do my best to stay on the good side of the law.

Guilty until proven innocent? That's not how the judiciary system works in most of the world. Presumption of innocence is an important part of the judiciary system, you do not claim someone is guilty until the case is closed and the verdict is passed. It can be a criminal offence, libel (if it is published in permanent form), in some places to impose such assertions that someone is guilty of a crime they did not commit. But also that one of the fundamental liberties on your bill of rights is the right for someone to receive fair trial.

For something like murder, people shouldn't pass judgement so quickly. Killing someone is probably one of the hardest things someone can do, and something people would avoid. How can you be so sure he would kill someone? I mean, what are the various possible motives? The most common stated motive is that of racial bigotry, but how can you be certain that would someone kill another person, especially a kid just because of something like that? His self-defence claim may seem unbelievable and unlikely, but it could somehow be possible.

I mean sure, I am actually on your side and I am somewhat guilty.I believe did kill Trayvon, but it could be manslaughter for all we know. But there is a plethora of defences available to the accused that can either acquit him or decrease the charges to culpable homicide. And what's the mens rea? Merely the actus rea is not enough to convict someone of murder. The burden of proof is on the prosecution to show he did commit murder according to statutory provisions.
