Hello, i just quickly made an account so that i may find a game that i played when i was younger.

It was a 2D fighting game with mecha-esque characters.
i believe these characters were customizable.
the games that i remember were tag team with one other cpu player.
i played this game on my game boy SP.
if you pressed the "select" butten while in a fight you would use a maga/special/Ultra attack
if you used the "Select" Butten while in the customize screen you would switch characters with your tag team friend.
The maps were 2d but i believe they had different layers, kinda like in the supersmash games.

Thanks for your help!

hello, do you remember if it was a gba game or a game boy color game?
could you use the L and R buttons for attacks or did it changed the screen size?

does it happen to be godzilla domination?
or Gundam Seed?

mecha esque characters, the other game i know is drill dozer, but this isn't fightning, there was costumization, but IIRC it doesn't have tag team

PS: it was side scroll? top bottom? what was the point of view?

They were robot/mecha like i think. i say this because i remember you could change how they looked/ what special attacks they used.

you viewed it like you view the Super smash games. i think it would kinda follow your character, but the fight arena things were set, just you could move around in em a bit. kinda like temple for super smash, because the map is so big.

that picture made me remember it all

Anyone know of a way i can get this as a game or onto my phone as an emulator? :P

with the name of the game, you'll find the rom to use with an emulator. my free boy works for android phones for example. but dont expect a lot when playing a brawling game with touch controlls

there are plenty of emulators on the android store..
for roms you can use my favorite website, we can't give you links, it's against the gbatemp rules
however the website i am talking about you can search for "paradise for emulation" or emulators paradise..
you will find it..
other way is simple to search gba roms, there are plenty of websites

They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik

but its a custom os for both of them

    designed for only specific hardware

so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think

It's a locked down Linux distro basically

I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip

They place married security chips onto boards iirc

Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source

I'm avoiding buying from the big 3 at all atm

At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.

considering the steamdeck can emulate the switch (yikes) theres almost 0 reason to buy the switch apart from playing online and using cartridges
