as the title thread says, I am looking for a game in the retail version (i.e. on a game card) that contains the FW 4.0.0.

Do you know such a game?

Thank you!:)

What about jp gamecards?
There are so many Japanese games on gamecards that have not been documented here yet: nswdb.com

According to this page, Just Dance 2018 has 4.0.0 on it. I'm not sure how accurate that is though, since according to this page, it has 3.0.1 on it.

EDIT: Actually, on that first page, the firmware listing is in italic, which according to that page, means that the "firmware listing is not final."

The reason why 4.0 is so elusive is not only because it has never been featured on a gamecart but also because it was only out for a week publicly before 4.0.1 came out replacing it. There aren't even any consoles that ship with firmware 4.0 according to the serial numbers thread so the only scenario you would obtain it is if someone had a console and was updating it regularly up until the week 4.0 came out and then suddenly stopped.

Do the game carts for Switch include the full firmware or only half? As far as I know, the 3DS carts dont include the full firmware files, is that correct?

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
