I want to know in which Sega game console game development was easier during hardware limitations era circa Anno Domini of years from 1995-1996/1997 to 1999-2001 Sega Saturn or Sega Dreamcast? Sonic R,Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 had emblems in late 90's of XX century and early 01's of XXI century. Which Sega hardware provided better game development tools? In which game Engines Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast were made? You know nowadays it's time dilation bringing back that first low poly 3d graphics cartoony aesthetics due to nostalgic trip to the past.

Sega Saturn was a Horror/Nightmare for the Developers.
The Dual CPU (and more, there where 6 Co CPU´s/Chips) Technology was awesome but far ahead of its Time.

Again and again the Complaints about "It was so difficult to get the CPUs working together."

The Processors started simultaneously, but there were still delays when one had to wait for the other to catch up.

Yeah especially fisheye Lens Effect 360 camera visual disortion. Sonic Jam was unfinished and rushed up I guess. I think Sonic Twist, Super Mario 64,Crash Bandicoot,Banjo-Kazooie,Bubsy 3D, Earthworm Jim 3D, Rayman 2,Jazz Jackrabbit 3D...etc. Besides Nintendo PlayStation (unreleased hardware),Atari Jaguar 2(unreleased hardware),Sega Earth (Laserdisc hardware redesign of Sega,Mega CD) there was also Sega 32X besides Sega Neptune,Sega Pluto,Sega Blackbelt also unreleased hardwares that were never finished in the past. Christina Coffin and Chris Senn were both suffering and struggling with pneumonia. Michael Kosaka argued with Dean Lester. He left Sega Technical Institute probably in 1996 when company was closed. MOTHER 3, Duke Nukem Forever were games in Nintendo and 3D Realms went through development hell. Sonic-16 was cancelled because Yuji Naka as former head of Sonic Team (before Takashi Iizuka replaced him) didn't like gameplay. Also he didn't allow STI to use NiGHTS Into Dreams game Engine in 1997 or 1996 threating that he will leave Sonic Team. According to Mike Wallis Sonic X-Treme had game development problem issues due to fact Sega of America CEO Tom Kalinske left Sega by being replaced by Bernie Stolar. In 1997 Sega ported at least Sega Genesis/Mega Drive isometric 3d platformer that was released on Sega Saturn and also on PC named Sonic 3D Blast Flickies Island on Sega Game Gear it was just Sonic Blast. Nintendo 64 Disk Drive was unfinished. Nintendo and Sony never partnershiped before like it was originally intended. SNES CD was also unreleased hardware add-on for Super Nintendo Entertainment System. So which Sega Saturn or Sega Dreamcast game development tools should I use?

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
